When to go to the dr?

I got a faint + on Tues then took a digital this morning and it came up + too. My question is should I call my dr. now and make an apt? Some friends told me that some dr's wont see you until you are a certain # of weeks. It has been 4w 2 days since last period. But since I don't have reg periods, I'm not sure if I would be late for my period now. I think they say call when you miss your period. Not sure if I'm explaing this right. Sorry for any confusion.

I went to my doctor at 4w2days, although I am considered high risk. Why don't you call your GP and ask the normal protocol.

I would call an explain...they will understand and let you know when they want you to come in. Mine went off my LMP and I had a really long cycle. They want to see you at 8 weeks for the first appt (my dr) and when I went in, they dated me at 6 weeks. Anyhow, long story short, just call and they will know what to do! If your dr is anything like mine, they will be busy and it will be tough to get the appt time you want anyways!

Congrats! You can never be 100% certain of how far along you are, so the dr office won't wait until you figure it out to schedule you an appt. Your first appt (and in your case, possibly all until your first u/s) will be scheduled based on your estimation...4w 2d. I'd call them now, since they tend to fill up quickly, and that way they can get you in soon! Good Luck and welcome!

I got my BFP at 4 weeks, 5 days and called the doctor. They had me come in at 6 weeks, 1 day for my initial check-up. I say go ahead and call them...there's no need to wait!

I didn't have insurance to start off with so I went to the Health Department and got a pregnancy test and I was 4w3d. I went the day after I took the at home test. They told me to schedule an appt with my doctor whenever need be. I went to my actual OB at 7w3d.

You might as well call now. You're right, some doctors won't see you until later on but some will right away. If nothing else get on the calendar for your first appt. Congrats!

After I told took the tests and all that and obviously told Dh I called them right away. I think within 2 days. Iwould just call and see what they say

I would call your Dr., tell them you've had a positive HPT, and they will tell you what they do next. I was about where you are when I found out, and mine made an appt. for 8 weeks. It is important to make the appt. now, for whenever they give you a first appt., because some Dr.'s book-up well in advance. Congratulations!

I would call and make the appointment if you had a positive test. They might want to confirm with a test at their office, or they might just schedule your first visit, which could be in 4-6 weeks. However, a lot of docs have busy schedules and if you don't get in early you might not get in with them, so I would suggest you schedule now.

Congrats and welcome!!!! I would call your ob and set up an appointment. They may not see you til 8 weeks or so but atleast you will have an appointment.

I called my doctor the day after I got my positive. At that point I was 4 weeks along. They didn't want to see me until I was 9 weeks. From what I understand, that is normal unless you were considered high risk. I'm sure that when you call and you tell them you're not sure when your last period was, they will put you in much faster.

Last week I was 4 wks and had 2 positive at home tests. I went in to see my PCP and they confirmed a positive with bloodwork. I made an appt today with a new OBGYN and they don't want to see me until 7 weeks.

I would go in and test. Its your insurance that is paying anyways. The sooner you know, the better. Good luck.
