What did we decide? Massage before ET?

Sorry, I know this is a repeat question, but we all know how the search function works Super Angry

I can't think of how it could hurt, but have you heard differently? Also, how many days before would you do one?

TIA! Smile

  • I felt like I asked this once, and people said no because massages release toxins.?

  • I plan on doing one before I start stims to treat myself and relax but I agree wi pp that doing it too close to ET might not be a good idea.
  • I have no idea of any science behind it. I will say that the day before my FET I got a massage and took a yoga class, all in an effort to get the blood flowing. I did get my BFP from that cycle.

but it's a good point about toxins, etc. just drink lots of water afterwards if you do it.

  • My acupuncturist recommends massage after ER to help with blood flow.  My doctor has no restrictions on this sort of thing (they did say to tell the therapist that I am doing IVF so that they avoid certain pressure points), so I am considering it.  The only thing holding me back is that between co-pays and acupuncture I don't know if I want to add the expense, KWIM?

..My masseause will not touch you right before ER or ET....the best is to start treatment in the beginning of your fertility drugs to release the dangerous toxins, and then if you want to continue, it would be a less-intense massage.

    Good luck!

  • I think massage is fine.  Just tell them what you are doing and I bet they will give you a "pregnancy" massage.  Just make sure it's someone who knows what they are doing.
