Re: friend being induced and stuck at 7cm

  • visualization, moving around/changing positions...and the midwife who did our birthing classes said to make sure your bladder is empty

  • has she tried walking or bouncing on a birthing ball? thats what helped me labor and progress. bouncing on the ball helped my water break too.

  • My advice is if the doc wants to do a c/s, then that's probably in her and the baby's best interest. I was in the same position and it is stressful on the baby.?

  • I was stuck at 6cm for what seemed like forever! I think it was about 4 hours. I realy felt like I had to poop so finally I tried and 25 minutes later I was pushing DD out and it only took 15 min. So tell her to try to take a big poo! And good luck.
  • there's probably not much she can do.  there must be a reason her body won't let her go any further.
Finally after 15 months and 2 IUI's we have our gorgeous baby boy! • Sorry no advice here..I was stuck at 5 cm for 38 hours then had a c/s. I was happy to have him finally out at that point!
  • I got stuck at 6 or 6.5.  After 3 hours of no progress beyond that, my doctor wanted a c-section.  Is the baby posterior?  That's what caused me not to progress anymore, & of course they can't turn them unless you're fully dilated.  Good luck to her!  Either way, I hope delivery goes smoothly!

wow. you are really pretty!  (sorry, i promise i'm not a creepy stalker!)

  • Did they break her water??  I went from 5 to 10 in a few hours because they broke my water.  I know that isn't up to her, but maybe if she hears it is coming it can put her mind at ease.
