The Magic Bullet

(Heeehee. ?The name always makes me think of something naughty:)).

I got a Magic Bullet for Christmas, and I don't really know what to do with it. ?I already have a mini food processor, a really fancy 11-cup food processsor, a blender, a milkshake maker, and a KitchenAid with a bunch of the grating/grinding/slicing attachments. ?Is there anything the Magic Bullet can do that the rest of my appliances can't? ?I don't really have room for another kitchen appliance and am considering giving it away, but I want to make sure I'm not missing out on something great.

  • I love my magic bullett (hee - makes me giggle too) but I also DON'T have a lot of the things that you mention so it comes in handy for me. The biggest thing is that I have a really bulky food process or that I store in the garage and I hate hauling it out if I just need to process something small (like chipotle mayo). I say if you have a bunch of other mixers/food processors/etc. you really don't need it.
  • We won one from Macy's after the wedding and just gave it to SIL for Christmas with a couple books of smoothies.  I say re-gift it.  I'm like you, I don't need another gadget.

  • The name the magic bullet always reminds me of a vibrator for some weird reason!
  • I loved my magic bullet for many years... but i have a husband now so I dont really need it.

OH You're talking about the Blender!!  Nevermind =)

J/k I have the magic bullet blender too, and I like it because I can make smaller things without dirtying lots of dishes, which I really appreciated when we didnt have a dishwasher for 3 years.    I also liked that you can drink out of the blender cups, which was great for margaritas and pina coladas =)   It was always good for making omlets and guac too.

  • Lol, I was thinking vibrator too. I always wondered if those worked well, I am interested in getting one now, with all the good reviews. We just have our crappy blender that we got in the clearance at Sears :)

  • I LOVE my magic bullet!  I use it all the time for homemade pesto.  I also use it for smoothies.....it whips it up like no other!  And it is fun when you want to make quick drinks too.   I say keep it.  It is small and I promise once you use it -- again best for pesto -- you will like it!

  • We use the Magic Bullet to make baby food and really like it, but if you've got all those other things you probably don't need it.

  • I don't have one so can't speak from experience, but in your situation I would re-gift too, I try to keep the kitchen gadget clutter somewhat under control.

  • I use mine for smoothies and will use it for DD's food someday but we don't have all the other gadgets. I love that you can drink out of the blender container.
  • I love mine.

I used it for making purees for baby.  But besides that, I use it for smoothies and have even made soup with it (love that it can be a small serving).

I like that I can steam (microwave), blend and serve all in 1 container.  And then just pop the whole thing into the dishwasher.  No handwashing required at all.

There's a little cookbook in the box.  I'd recommend taking that out and flipping through it to see if there's anything that you'd actually do in there.  If not, regift.  To someone who has a baby entering purees stage, maybe.
