my shower is tomorrow (yay so i've got baby showers on the mind, and thought i'd put up a quick poll!

if you had more than one shower, i would say answer based on whichever one you would consider your "main" shower, if that makes sense... if it doesn't, do whatever you want haha

I had 4... all about the same size.

1 - how far along were you at your shower? 2 and 26w and 2 at 30w

2 - who hosted? DH's family for one, my sisters for another, my aunt and a friend.

3 - how many attendees? between 10-25 at each.

4 - what did you wear? doesn't matter I looked awful and sweaty!! Use A/C when throwing a baby shower in august!! lol..

5 - did you play games? yes

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc? yes

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.) all in homes.

8 - did you give hostess gift(s)? no, we don't do that here...

9 - did DH attend at all? nope.

10 - did you have FUN? YES!!

1. i dont remember! ha, maybe around 25 weeks. 2. my moms friend 3. about 30, if not less 4. a cute dress, it was comfy 5. no, thank goodness, they are not the game type 6. yes, but i was pissed because they all made stuff with chicken (i couldnt eat chicken when i was pg) but my mom made something i could eat. 7. home 8. my mom picked up some car organizer thing for them 9. yes he came at the end to mingle and carry things out to the car! 10. it was ok!

my mom, aunt, and best friend - it took place at my aunt's house

4 - what did you wear?
black skirt, red kimono top

5 - did you play games?
well, there was a baby lottery - a whiteboard calendar set up where everyone wrote down their guess of date/sex/weight and winner got a photo album. there also was a packet of stuff in the beginning where all the guests had to do a variety of "tasks," one of which was to connect with another designated guest and find out how they knew me, how long they knew me, and an interest fact, then share it with the group. no real "games," though.

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc?
Yes, it was a brunch.

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.)
Home

8 - did you give hostess gift(s)?
Yes, I gave the 3 hostesses little magnetic picture frames w/ an ultrasound photo (with the intention being that they would be a photo of the baby in it after he was born).

9 - did DH attend at all?
Yes, my aunt called him as things were winding down so he could come over and say hi to everyone.

10 - did you have FUN?
yes!

1. 32 weeks at both.

2. One was hosted by my MIL's dear friend and the other was hosted by three of my coworkers.

3. About 15-20 at each shower.

4. I wore a white strapless dress with bold pink and salmon pink flower print and a salmon sash with a bold pink sweater to the first and a khaki and ivory print sundress with an ivory sweater to the second.

5. We played the string game and a couple of word games at the first shower and "guess who the baby picture is" at the second.

6. The first shower served a really elegant luncheon, and the second was just tea and snacks.

7. Both showers were in people's homes.

8. I did give hostess gifts of specialty teas and cookies.

9. DH stayed far, far away. :-)

I had two, but for I'm answering for my main 'all girl' shower.

2 - who hosted? family (sisters and mom)

3 - how many attendees? about 35 I think

4 - what did you wear? black dress

5 - did you play games? yes, we played celebrity mom guessing game and the girls made onesies and they played guess what is on this tray and remember everything and write it down. oh, and necklace game if peole said baby they lost their baby necklace.

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc? we had finger food - small sandwiches, dips, fruit, veggies (catered)

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.) home

8 - did you give hostess gift(s)? yup, gave all hostess a gift - not too expensive - just $20 frame that was so beautiful.

9 - did DH attend at all? no, just to pick me up.

10 - did you have FUN? Yes, but I had to sit down a lot and couldn't mingle too much and I regret it, but DH wanted me to take it easy.

I had two...I'll just answer for both. The first was a shower half way across the country where I grew up. The second was local and coed.

1 - how far along were you at your shower? 17w (b/c I was visiting family out of state for the holidays so it was the only time) / 31w

2 - who hosted? a good friend (for each)

3 - how many attendees? 15-20 maybe?

4 - what did you wear? a flattering knit maternity dress (same one)

5 - did you play games? yes, but more at the girl-only shower than the coed

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc? we had appetizers and cake at both

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.) the hostesses' homes

8 - did you give hostess gift(s)? yes

9 - did DH attend at all? He attended the coed shower only.

10 - did you have FUN? Yes!!

1.) 32 weeks for my work shower, 33 weeks for my "virtual" family shower

2.) My parents hosted the "virtual" shower....had all my friends and relatives over for lunch at their house in NJ. I was stuck here in Atlanta. They shipped all their gifts to me here, and they watched me open them via webcam.

3) work shower: ~15

family shower: ~20?

4) Jeans and a maternity sweater

5) No

6) Work ordered in lunch and a cake from a local restaurant, my parents had a local restaurant cater a buffet at their house?

10) I had fun at both, and I was very overwhelmed by everyone's generosity. I was sad couldn't really be there with my family and friends in NJ though.?

3 - how many attendees? 55, 17, and 24

4 - what did you wear? dress pants and a nice top to all 3. Gray pants with black sparkly top, then black pants with a pinstriped dress shirt and then dress pants and sweater

5 - did you play games? first shower, yes, simple ones. second and third shower no

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc? First and Second shower had meals either at a restaurant or catered/prepared. Third one had sandwiches and snacks

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.) Restaurant, home and home

8 - did you give hostess gift(s)? Yes to all of them

9 - did DH attend at all? No, not one

10 - did you have FUN? YEP!

1 - how far along were you at your shower? 29w, 31w, 32w, 36w, &38w Yes I had 5 showers.

2 - who hosted? my mom's church friends, mil (for her friends, mil (for their family), my coworker, my mom and friend

3 - how many attendees? 15, 10, 25, 25, 20

4 - what did you wear? black pants and a dressy shirt- but my work one was Baby's First Tailgate so I wore a green and white shirt and jeans!

5 - did you play games? not at all- the ones my mil threw just drew names for little gifts.

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc? meals at all of them

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.) homes and a meeting room at a hotel. The one at 38w was at my house in case I was on bedrest.

8 - did you give hostess gift(s)? yes I give hostess gifts for thanksgiving and Easter- anytime someone is hosting a formal party or dinner. For the showers I gave Giving Tree Angels that meant something between me and those people.

9 - did DH attend at all? nope only 2 of them

10 - did you have FUN? Yeah some more than others but I loved celebrating DS and letting people get excited to met him!

4 - what did you wear? denim skirt and red eylette blouse

5 - did you play games? yes

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc? my mom made yummy mini sandwiches and quiches, the rest of the guests all brought my favourite appetizers

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.) actually held at our house that was for sale at the time and vacant, but had a great backyard where the shower was held

8 - did you give hostess gift(s)? yes, I sent the girls a gift certificate for a pedi and a framed pic of them holding DS

9 - did DH attend at all? yes for about a half hour, then he went for beer with the boys

10 - did you have FUN? yes, I had moved a couple months before DS was born and this was the first time I got to see most of my friends since then

3 - how many attendees? Maybe about 20?

4 - what did you wear? cords and a green shirt

5 - did you play games? Yeah -- guess the candy "poop" in the diaper

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc? Quiche, cupcakes, fruit, ham, rolls, coffee, juice, wine

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.) One of the hosts homes in the yard

8 - did you give hostess gift(s)? yep

9 - did DH attend at all? Sort of -- he was there when everyone showed up and stayed for a while. Then he left and came back as everyone was leaving. It was a lot of his family he hadn't seen in a while so he wanted a chance to visit.

3 - how many attendees? 30?

4 - what did you wear? black capri pants and a blue shirt

5 - did you play games? only 2 and they were not required!! They had a digital pricture frame and 5 pics of me and DH and the guests had to guess our ages in the pictures. The second one was a basket of baby stuff and the guests had to guess the amount of money spent to buy all the items.

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc? yep! BEST FOOD EVER!!

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.) home

8 - did you give hostess gift(s)? yep. I gave them each a Brighton piece that matched their personality.

9 - did DH attend at all? nope

10 - did you have FUN? OMG it was so fun!! The best gift was little jammies and robes for the boys. They were sent from my uncles and they were affectionately named the "smoking jacket" and the "nicorette jacket" since one uncle smokes and the other one is trying to quit. Lots of Hugh Hefner jokes as well.

2 - who hosted? My mom, sister, MIL and aunt

3 - how many attendees? I know there are about 60 people invited (they are doing 1 shower for both sides of the family and friends)

4 - what did you wear? I'm not sure what I'm going to wear...probably pants and a cute sweater/shirt

5 - did you play games? I know that they plan to have games

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc? A lunch with soup, salad and a warm entree (chicken I think), and cake of course!

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.) It is going to be at a hotel banquet room

8 - did you give hostess gift(s)? I plan to give gifts, but I'm just not sure what at this point

9 - did DH attend at all? DH will be there for the whole thing

cute bubble hem (I swear it was cute, not big bubble, just turned under) burgandy dres

They did little ones for prizes, like guess how many baby socks were in a jar, and a couple other ones. Nothing that was mandatory participation or embarrassing for me or the guests

6 - did you have a meal/snacks/etc?

they made tea sandwiches and snacks

7 - where was your shower? (home/restaurant/etc.)

Since Lauren and her husband and her 3 kids worked so hard to get it all together (even her youngest set up chairs) I did a gift basket for the family, movie gift cards, snacks, video game rentals and stuff like that. My sister asked me not to give her one, as I am throwing her bridal shower. So we just took her to dinner that night.

At the end. he came with my Dad and my BIL to carry gifts

10 - did you have FUN?

I am shy, and it was hard, but it was fun. too

1. I forgot already, it was early 27weeks maybe? Everyone wanted the date planned around their summer vacations since I was due 9/27, so my mom had it the end of June.

5. They did...they all guesses how many bibs I would get before I went, did some game about old wives tales if its a boy/girl, bingo with the gifts, i dont remember if there were others, lol, sorry!

7. Banquet hall..actually the same place we are having DS's christening

8. nope it was a "surpirse" though I pretty much guessed it

9. He brought me there, said hello and came back at the end to pack everything up

10. Absolutely, but even though everyone opened my gifts for me like Santa's workshop and it went by soo fast, I was so exhausted afterwards I just wanted to put my feet up and lay down! But we had a great time!
