Car seat questions

I know Britax is the best and some people are quite spirited in their feelings for them but we can't afford it right now and he needs a new seat.  I have a 30% off for Kohls and am wondering if any of the seats they carry online are any good.  Does any one have experience with the Safety first all in one convertible or the cosco alpha omega seat?  Any help would be appreciated.  Also how long do you anticipate leaving rear facing?  He HATES being in his seat and not seeing things so basically every car ride is a scream fit.  We are doing the year switch but wanted your thoughts.  Thanks everyone.

Re: Car seat questions

  • I don't know what they sell at Kohl's, but the Evenlo Triumph gets good reviws on here and is as safe as the Britax seats, but about 1/2 the price.

Use www.froogle.com or www.pricegrabber.com to check internet prices, they could be lower than what you'd find in-store, even with a % off coupon.

  • I have the safety first all in one. It's such a pain to get in, but it's comfy and was recommended to me by my mom who is a car seat tech. I have to use a pool noodle to get it in right. From what I hear they grow out of the height too soon though.
  • I bought both of my convertible carseats at a Big Lots. They were inexpensive and name brands and had good ratings. Actually my ds has the alpha omega. It was a pain to install though.
  • I'm not sure about Kohl's but Graco has a new one called the Nautlis. Great seat for around $150. 5 point harness goes up to 65 pounds too, that was the selling point for us. I believe it's exclusively at Wal-Mart though.
