Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Enfamil Lipil 9-24 mo.

Anyone doing this in place of whole milk after 12 mo? I am concerned about DS getting all of the nutrients he needs after we switch to cow milk, but I am not convinced this is necessary. Can't we just give them vitamins just as easily?

Re: Enfamil Lipil 9-24 mo.

  • I asked DS's pedi this at his 9 month appointment.  She said that he will get all the he needs from his solids and cows milk.  She did put him on a vitamin, but only for the winter months.

  • Tried doing it constipated the hell outta her, it's cheaper  so go for it!
  • We've gotten some samples of Next Step and have used them, just switched between that and regular Lipil without a problem.  But there is def no reason to use that instead of cows milk after 12 mo.  Based on our pedi and what I've read, not worth it to spend the money on the formula and the cows milk has all the nutrients they need.  Why do you think your DS wont get enough from milk?  Is he a good eater?

    ?

He is a good eater. I am just not sure about how much of each food group he should be getting. I looked around for guides online yesterday but didn't come up with specifics any more than just "fruit" "veggie". I don't want to give him too much or too little of anything. I'll keep looking or check with the pedi I guess. This stuff just seems like a easy way out of worrying about it but I would rather not do it. ?
