I've been feeling pressure and movement in my abdomen for the last three days and was excited thinking it was the baby moving, but last night I noticed some light brown spotting. I've continued to feel pressure and occassional movement (not sure if it's baby or something else) and overnight I noticed I didn't have to get up to pee as much as I have been (and when I did I felt like I had to go but just a little came out). The spotting seems to have stopped, but it looks like my bump got smaller overnight.
I know I should stay away from Google in a situation like this, but I caved, and am now really scared that I have an incompetent cervix. The possible symptoms sound like what I am experiencing, and I have had a cervical biopsy done in the past. I also think maybe it's a UTI...I really hope it's that and not IC.
The nurse I just talked to told me that they'll probably want me to come in right away this morning. I hate calling in to work but I guess I will have to do it...just waiting to hear from the doc to make sure he definately wants me to come in today.
Please wish me luck. I'm terrified right now.
Re: *sigh* waiting to hear from on-call doc...
Please don't worry!
It's important that you stay calm and don't put any more stress on your system.
This is very common - you should just lay down & try to rest until you hear back.
You're in our thoughts!
Okay deep breaths. ?My first reaction was UTI. The pressure sounds a lot like this. I've had them for years and they can present with a lot of pregnancy symptoms. Are you pooping regularly? ?If you are also constipated (another pregnancy joy) compacting in your bowels will add to the pressure and restrict your urine flow. I had to go so far as to have ultrasounds done thanks to a compacted tract and UTI. The only thing that assured the doctor at the time that I wasn't pregnant was the negative test and a lack of guarding in my abdomen.
Will think positive thoughts for you!! Eat some bran!?
I'm sure everything is okay! Don't worry... take deep breaths! If you go to the doctor you will more than likely get an u/s so look at it that way!
I hope all is well.. good luck! and keep us posted.
Good luck! Keep us updated and take it easy!
