Hello I am new here looking for advice to help daughter sleep in her crib
Hello my name is Renee I am a stay at home mom of one daughter, Sophia, she is going to be a year old January 26, 2009. I am looking for information about co-sleeping and how to help Sophia sleep in her crib. She got a cold when she was about a month and a half old and in order to sleep we brought her in our bed. Now she will not sleep in her crib. I was wondering if anyone had any advice about ways to get her back in her crib.

We did the same with our first when he caught phenomena. To get him back in his room we had to put him in the crib and sleep on the floor next to him till he was asleep. He still cried but he knew we were there. We slowly moved further away from his crib and after 3 nights he was sleeping in there no problem.
Both of our boys did the same thing. Now we have to keep them out of our bed though because any night we let them in when they are sick the next day is a struggle again.

I think all you can do is stay with her until she is asleep in her crib- maybe sit on a Rocking Chair- you could put her in her crib and sing some lullabies to her...and assure her you're there for her...
There is bound to be tears! My daughter is 4 months old and has slept in my arms for the last 2...it got increasingly uncomfortable and to add to it she was looking to feed every hour past 1am...needless to say neither one of us was sleeping! I sucked it up and put her in her crib and let her "cry" it out of Naptime...digital clock in hand...it took a total of 9 minutes before she was out like a light! Now she goes down for the night on her own- concious of her surroundings...I lucked out though...I guess...
