I don't plan on telling anyone until March, maybe even longer. My parents just guessed at Christmas as soon as they saw me, but as far as everyone else is concerned I like the idea of keeping it to myself, and then just showing up pregnant on our bi-annual trip back to Oklahoma and letting everyone announce it to themselves.

We're waiting until after our first appointment at 8 weeks to tell relatives and close friends. We'll tell everyone else (including work) after the first tri.

It's all about when you and your DH/Partner feels like it's time.

With us: Parents/In-laws/BF/Brother - few days after BFP @ 5wks

We're telling some close family when we see them next week when I'm 8wks

Extended family and our friends - probably in the next few weeks or so.

re: work - For my 1st I told my close co-workers 11wks. Boss at 13wks.

Told the parents and siblings at 7 weeks.

Told closest friends at 8 weeks.

Told my extended family and coworkers (only 2) at 10 weeks.

We'll announce to everyone after I get the results from my NT Scan (scheduled for next Wed.). If the risk of Down's and Trisomy 13/18 is low, I'll feel confident enough to say something.

i dont see anything wrong with your question. i'm sure the newness of everything has you all over the place.

we told our family and close friends within days of finding out. we figure, even if it doesnt stick... they're going to know we miscarried anyway.

Thanks to all who answered! I didn't spend much time on here before my BFP this week, so all the questions are new to me. And I guess I figured that was sort of the nature/point of these boards. Anyhow, sorry to annoy anyone!

we have not told anyone yet, DH may tell his family at 8 weeks when he sees them-they live far away. I will try to wait till march to tell my family& friends. but it's hard because i talk to them everyday and see them every couple of weeks.My boss and other co - workers will have to wait until they guess it. I am a sales rep and hardly see any of them. I see no benefit of letting them know now.

We told immediate family within a few days of finding out, but will wait until after our 8 week appt. to tell everyone else. ?I don't work, so at least I don't have to worry about that again- telling my boss was horrible!?

yep, that's what boards are for. if someone is tired of certain questions they should just keep quiet or stay away, instead of bashing other people. just weed out the negative and cautiously ask whatever you want. there are some people on here that can/will empathize with you.

We told our family as soon as we had taken a few home preganancy tests and all came back positive. We were unsure of if we should but had all the family together and couldn't wait any longer :-)
