Looks like IUI #1 is next

I'm a little in shock, actually. ?All I knew was that the doctor was going to try metformin and clomid, and that since I didn't get my period yet, we were starting on prometrium. ?Then I got a call today from the office saying I had to call my insurance to get approval for the IUI. ?Wha?!?! ?No one said IUI to me! ?And then when I talked to the nurse about it all, she said something about DH's morphology, blah, blah, blah, which the RE did not mention in our consult at all. ?In fact, every step of the way, everyone has just said that he is fine and I have PCOS. ?I knew an IUI might be in the offing, but I'm just kind of shocked. ?DH doesn't know a thing about IUI. ?Not sure how he'll feel, it being springed on him like this.

    Wow - think I'd be trying to get a hold of my doctor!  Are you comfortalble moving forward with something you haven't discussed - especially seems strange that he would not mention poor morphology in you consult?  Seems like if the RE changed his plans he should clue you in about it!  Good luck getting some answers, and talking to your DH about it!

    My doc mentioned an IUI to me on our first RE appt. DH is fine and I have PCOS. I just started on Metformin and I am thinking my first IUI will be next month....GL!:)

    I'd be concerned that something about your husband's morph was mentioned. ?We have morph issues and were told to go straight to IVF since IUI would be almost pointless because of the morph. ?Not to mention that they never even talked to you about IUI.

    This is the unsettling part: ?No one has mentioned anything about my husband's morph. ?Not his urologist, who said he was fine, and not the RE when we had our consult and she also said it was fine. ?Talked to DH, and of course he doesn't even know what an IUI is, so it's taking us for a little loop.

    Oh, well. ?I guess we'll have time to think about it while we're away and while I'm on the prometrium...
