Pennsylvania Babies

Please recommend your pediatrician

We are switching pediatricians after a number of rude comments from our pediatrician and him telling me that giving my baby a bottle was the worst thing I could have done (after he knows I have had issues breast feeding). I live in the Enola area and don't really want to drive much more the 20 min for a doctor but please if you have a doctor that you feel comfortable with please recommend them to me.

Re: Please recommend your pediatrician

  • First, CONGRATS on your little boy!  I'm sorry that you've had trouble with your ped.  I hope it's not who we plan to see.  We're planning to go to Heritage Pediatrics in Camp Hill.  I've heard positive reviews from other moms about them.  Good luck!

  • Congrats on your baby!!!!!

We take Sophia to Heritage Pediatrics in Camp Hill and we love them!  We see Dr. Lori Deschene (I think that's the spelling) and she's great!  The other dr.'s there are great too, I just really like Dr. Lori.

Best of luck!  Where are the pics of this baby boy?!

  • We use Ryder Barnes in Mechanicsburg, right off of 15. They're great, and we've put them to the test with many odd viruses (including a hospitalization), multiple ear infections, pinkeye and hand, foot and mouth disease. They will always see you on the same day for a sick child. We live in the neighborhood and it's not uncommon to see them still there at 8:00 at night. There are four doctors, so you get to know them all very well.
  • We also go to Heritage and have been happy there.  Sorry you wnet through that...I know how hard breast feeding could be and had to also switch to formula.  Oh, Heritage is in Camp Hill across the street from the ABC on Market Street/Carlisle Pike.  GL!
  • Congrats!  We have also been happy with Heritage Pediatrics so far.
  • Congrats !

We also live in Enola and use Heritage Pediatrics.  I have been very happy with them so far.  It only takes 10 minutes to get there from my house.

I also had a lot of trouble breastfeeding the first couple of weeks and ended up giving a pumped bottle around 2 weeks.  The dr. knew we were having a lot of issues and said she would rather me try to keep breastfeeding than give a bottle, but understood that it was best for all of us.  I EP'ed for 3 weeks and eventually got Connor to latch at 5 weeks.  He's 10.5 months and I am still breastfeeding, please let me know if you have any questions.
