February 2027 Babies

first trimester and working

hey all!

i'm only 5 weeks but i'm already struggling with the exhaustion, nausea, digestive issues, and nonstop need to pee. i have zero focus.

how do people manage to be regular at work? especially since it feels too early to tell my coworkers/boss.

how is everyone else coping? i'm trying to be sipping lots of water, and i keep sleeves of crackers at my desk.

Are you planning on going back to work after you have this baby?

I wasn't, and ended up quitting work at 6 weeks pregnant with my first due to throwing up. I worked in the food and drinks industry, so even if I didn't get to the point of being bed bound due to nausea for part of my pregnancy I couldn't have continued working *there*.

Exhaustion and nausea wise, look into Unison and B6 combo.

Digestion wise look into digestive enzymes (can help w food aversions too.)

The constant need to pee unfortunately doesn't go away even if you hardly drink water lolll.

Today is my first day on the struggle bus (4 weeks, 3 days). Just learned I'm pregnant yesterday (IVF baby).

I'm approved to take Adderall for mental health and it's not even helping.

The first trimester is supposed to be the worse, so hopefully it won't last too long! When do you plan on telling your boss?
  • I'm hoping to get through my first trimester without telling work but we'll see how it goes! I suspect I'll have a lot of appointments (high risk - previous loss + my age), so it might be easier to tell just my boss at some point.
  • I’ve been feeling super distracted at work for sure. I totally get it. I think especially with it being so early, it’s hard not to just let your mind race and worry.
