Postpartum Depression

PP Hair Loss

I didn’t have super thick hair prior to pregnancy and know that my 4 mths PP the hair loss is awful. I feel like I am constantly pulling hair out everytime I run my fingers through my hair, brush my hair, shower, etc. Does anyone have any tips on how to combat this? I’m taking prenatals still but all this hair loss is not helping my mental.

  • I also went through this too and it’s so hard mentally. Postpartum shedding usually peaks around this time, even if your hair was never thick to begin with. Be as gentle as possible with brushing, avoid tight styles, and focus on scalp health. I kept taking my prenatal and also added BabyBlues postpartum hair loss vitamins into my diet, which really helped slow the shedding and support regrowth for me. You’re not doing anything wrong, this phase does pass.

  • I remember feeling like this around 3–4 months pp, it can feel really overwhelming seeing so much hair come out every day. You’re not alone in this at all.

That timing is actually when shedding usually peaks because of the hormone shift, even though it feels scary. What helped me was being really gentle with my hair, avoiding tight styles, and not over-brushing. I also focused on eating well and staying consistent with my vitamins.

I added a postpartum hair support vitamin during that phase too, I tried the ones from the brand called Baby Blues postpartum hair loss vitamins and honestly over time I did notice less shedding and little regrowth coming in. It wasn’t instant, but it helped alongside just giving it time.

It does slow down, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now 🤍
