Baby Names

HELP US FIND NAMES!

We have two children (a boy and a girl): Kaden Jai, and Shianne Millie.
Just found out we are having triplets (two girls and a boy).
I want their names to match their siblings. Was not expecting to go from two to five, so hence need help with names.
Our last name is Walz :)

Re: HELP US FIND NAMES!

  • Triplets! Wow! We are having twins, so I feel your pain with the naming issue. I have a boy name and a girl name, so hopefully we will just have a boy and a girl, but I need to have an additional boy and additional girl name just in case! We find out genders sometime in December.

My name styles are different from yours, but I really love family names. I’m naming a girl after my great grandmother, even though I don’t really love her name, Beatrice, I think it’s a very important name and I’m excited to use it if we have a girl. Maybe look at your family tree and see what names stick out to you. Last names work too! My name is Taylor, which was my great-grandparents last name. My son was almost named Cooper, after my step-grandfathers last name. We went with his first name instead.

  • We have a couple of family names that are ok... I'm just not sure if they fit with the other two kids names and I'm lost at whether to use them or not.

    - Davis
    - Harrison, Hallie, Harlie/Harley, Hattie, Josie (as a stretch)        - Pops name is Harry Joseph
    - Lerie (made this one up, combination of Leanne and Cherie, both nanas middle names)
    - Patricia - although I don't love this name, so maybe paityn/paislee, james (was her last name), Jamie    ?????
    - Dallas,Tallas, Dalilah/Delilah    - Family members name is Dallas

Honeslty not sure, and struggling to come up with three names that match Kaden Jai and Shianne Millie and go with our last name. Love the multiple struggle.

Let me know what you decided on!
  • Of the ones you listed in your last comment I would say the best names are Hallie, Harley and Delilah by far. I really think you should reconsider "made up" names and unusual spellings. There is a huge difference between wanting something you don't see daily, and making your child's future difficult (there are MANY stories of adults being turned away from jobs because they had a weird name. Not saying it's right, but I do think you need to consider this).

I think Leanne is a lovely name if you wanted to honour a family member! I think that a triplet set named Leanne, Hallie, and Dallas would be the way to go solely off the names you have mentioned here. They all have a nice 'L' sound without being too similar, and are all different enough they are unlikely to have 3 more of them in their classes, and I feel like they fit nicely with Shianne and Kaden.
  • Hi! Turns out we are having identical boys! We chose family names, James, after my great-aunt Jamie (my bonus grandmother), and John, after my husband’s uncle. Middle names will be Donald, there are several “Donny”s in my family, and Theodore, after my husband’s other uncle.

I wouldn’t be so worried about their names being matchy with their siblings. They’re only together all the time for the first 15-16 years. By then they will all have different interests and different friend groups. They’ll be individual adults for most of their lives, not “the triplets.” I understand having certain name vibes you prefer, but I don’t think you need to worry about them really going together. They’ll always be family, but not attached at the hip.
