3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: Dr today then follow up ultrasound next Tuesday
4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: girl
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: having contractions on and off, typically just mildly annoying period like cramping but periodically turns into full blown contractions, regular and 5 minute apart but they go away usually in about 45 minutes. Talked to my OB about it this morning and they basically said little girl is going in and out of my pelvis resulting in this stop/start labour. Basically she has commitment issues.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I spent about 10 cumulative hours on maternal assessment last week because of this non-labour which is just getting old at this point. They'd hook me up to monitors, yep having regular, strong contractions, then she settles out back to irregular cramping. The hospital is just shy of an hour away, we have had freezing rain all last week, and it's just a lot with a toddler at home. They kept telling me to come in because we are under 37 weeks but my OB today said just follow the 5-1-1 rule at this point unless my water breaks, she stops moving, or I start bleeding. The only thing that makes me anxious is living so far away, I took home a couple cord clamps from work so I have those at least.
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): favourite fruit or vegetable? Fruit would be peaches, vegetable maybe zucchini? That or green beans.
8.) Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ: how's the weather where you are? We had a little taste of spring with melting weather and light rain during the day but it's still freezing at night and tomorrow it's supposed to get cold again. It was nice to lose some of our snow though, parts of the horse pasture are bare now
3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: Wednesday checkup. Had an ultrasound last week and they said her stomach looked big and they want me to get another one in two weeks...
4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: girl
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: lots of pains
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: still trying to unpack boxes so my house won't be chaos but there is a long way to go.
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): favourite fruit or vegetable? probably apples. For vegetable maybe leeks.
8.) Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ: Weather here was been very, very rainy!
2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 35 weeks today / March 16
3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: Next Tuesday for 36 wk appt, scan + GBS swab
4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: Girl
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: I have to pee every 5 minutes. It's so annoying. Braxton Hicks, leg cramping at night, all the spicy food from the Superbowl hasn't helped my heartburn (which is on me but I have no self control). I am very done.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: Annoying - I ended up going to triage last week because I super intense Braxton Hicks that were coming every 5 minutes and didn't go away with rest, position change, or hydration. Got home from work and wasn't feeling baby move like I usually did, so I called the doctor and he told me to go L&D. Baby looked great on the monitor, and apparently I have another UTI so that's special. Contractions calmed down with antibiotics. They did a cervical check on me to make sure I wasn't making change with the contractions. I was barely dilated (maybe half a centimeter) and lord did it HURT.
Exciting - my sprinkle was on Saturday and despite it being the coldest day in 15 years (it for real felt like -10) and having an ice cream party, it was lovely and perfect and just what I had envisioned for our 2nd little one.
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): favourite fruit or vegetable? I have been craving fruit and fruit juice like none other this pregnancy. I love tropical flavors like passionfruit and guava, but I am also loving strawberries right now. For vegetables, I love a starchy potato in any form. But I like broccoli, green beans, etc. Raw carrots.
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: HB, BH, mild pelvic pain here and there.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I'm making progress on my nesting projects, but feeling the crunch to get things done before the first week of March. I want to be prepared in case I go early again. I'm tired of being pregnant but I really want to make it to delivery day this time.
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): favourite fruit or vegetable? I've always been a weirdly kind of picky eater. I really only like fruit in berry smoothies and I'm highly selective about what kinds. I like salads and roasted sweet potatoes or squash. Being a Midwestern gal, the classic combo of corn, cut green beans, and peas with potatoes in any form is always top tier.
8.) Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ: @lizdiane456 Where I live we just got over a super cold snap (temps -40) so even though it's only 30-40 (all Farenheit) it feels like Spring. Still way too much snow, slush, and ice but it's a lot easier to go places with my toddler.
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: I’m tired all the time, my hips hurt really bad and it is affecting my mobility.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I got all my registry items and was able to organize baby stuff. We are moving kids around so there will be lots of stuff to do this next week to settle everyone.
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): favourite fruit or vegetable?
@lizdiane456 we had a thaw too. We got over a foot of snow then temps up to 40 so not a good combination. It resulted in a thick layer of ice everywhere.
I called yesterday to schedule a growth scan and OB appointment. It’s been 6 weeks since I have been seen. They acted so weird. She was like, have you been seeing someone else for prenatal care and then put me on hold for awhile before agreeing to schedule my appointment. She said she was going to have to get me in to a longer appointment time because it’s been so long. 🙄 I told her this is my 8th baby, I didn’t need an extra long appointment and the baby is fine. Plus, I’m getting an ultrasound prior to my appointment. That should be enough.
@emeraldcity603 I hope whoever took your call is a newbie and they just didn't know what to do when something feels non-standard because that's pretty darn weird and a bit rude. From their perspective, who knows what your situation has been - life can be pretty non-standard. They could have treated you better!
@midnightatsunset Yeah, it felt really weird for her to say all that. Plus, I mentioned to my doctor at my last visit that I was going out of town for a few weeks. I’m not seeing the same doctor every time and maybe that’s why she felt I needed to be seen longer. The appointments seem pointless to me anyways. It’s the same thing and I’m in and out in less than 15 minutes.
Finally! I couldn't access this bump chart for days! I reached out to their support team, and they said it had something to do with cloud fare. It's finally let me back in but how frustrating! This isn't the 1st or 2nd time either.
1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 2
2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): 3/14 (because she thinks I'll be 1w late like I was with my 1st, according to LMP date was 3/06- she stuck w the later date which is annoying to me). I'm 35w5d, measuring fundal at 36 weeks yesterday at my OB appointment.
3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: 2/25
4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ:🩵
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: everything- hb,hb, insomnia, pelvic pressure, can't lay on my back even for a second, power back pain, insane thirst at night, constant bathroom trips... the list goes on
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: exciting is getting ready for baby and talking to my toddler about it. It's so fun to see him understand and not fully understand things at the same time. I put this baby onesie on his stuffy monkey and he treats her like baby brother so gentle. It's insanely cute. He saw a baby at the doctors office and started repeating, "mom baby came out! Look!". Seems to think my belly button is where he'll be coming out from 😆 always checking out my belly calling it a baby ball and pretends to pick it up and throw it. I'm really enjoying these once in a lifetime moments with him. Not to exciting: my mom won't be coming to help this time which really makes me sad and frustrates me, it's a combination of reasons for her but in the end more of a choice. We don't have family here so it's a struggle to find it what we're going to do with our toddler while I deliver since I'm really needing my partner there and present, I have asked a close friend and they're willing to watch him. I have never left him with anyone aside from family so it's just a different headspace for me too. Adds stress to me for sure. Lastly, we're trying in the process of outside Reno's on our property so it's a lot of multitasking. I have 2 shifts left at work, they are spread out so happy to be done. I'm honestly so big and uncomfortable I'm really getting to be done, told me OB that and she's like, "well, we're not quite there yet"... I know this but in my head I'm thinking I'm 37 weeks already. Don’t want to go past 40. Induction at 40 is being discussed, GBS swab next appt.
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): favourite fruit or vegetable? I like mango, tomatoes, sweet potatoes. A lot of them. Husband left for a week work trip so it's just been me all week. Picking him up tomorrow from airport and we tour the hospital Saturday on Valentine's Day which will I'm looking forward to. Since we'll be downtown we'll make a day of it.
8.) Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ: Anyone doing yoga ball exercises and getting on the treadmill or doing circuits or anything?
Liz- I cackled at "commitment issues", but on a serious note sorry you're going through that. I can imagine it's difficult with tot and having to drive the distance- not fun. 5-1-1 rule is a solid plan. Weather has been very rainy and windy. It's changed in the last 18hrs or so, and it's much less windy now but it was fun teaching my toddler about the weather changes lately. We need to get our roof checked, saw some shingles on the yard the following day.
Rose- GL with the unpacking of the boxes!
Fifi- I've been eating a lot spicy food so funny I read this, I was talking to my husband about needing to reach for something that isn't spicy. My stomach has been in a strike. Glad you had a fun sprinkle!
Midnight- I'm tired of being pregnant too!
Emerald- I missed my last appt due to traffic so I hadn't been seen in a month but office didn't make a stink about it. How weird. Sorry you went through that. The appointments really do seem pointless. I can do a weight, vitals, and a fundal on myself. Not much longer now!
My March 22 baby became a Feb 12 baby. 4lbs 12oz, he’s in NICU so far doing okay. I’m a wreck. This was so unexpected. My doctor sent me to L&D for an US just to check fluid since I had been swelling and measuring a little bigger. My BP was elevated and things went wild- I think it was elevated from the chaos here, but they didn’t come down and they said I had pre-eclampsia and baby needed out. I’m on magnesium drip so I had to stay on that for 24 hours after delivery in the bed, so I can’t even go to NICU until after 5pm today. I am worried I’m going to end up with PPD/PPA. This has been such a wild ride.
@robinj716 oh my goodness I am so sorry you are going through this! Not being able to see your LO in the NICU when you want to is awful. Praying for you and your LO, that you both recover, can bond, and get stronger
@robinj716 oh Hun I'm so sorry. That's so stressful to not even be able to see your baby. I'm glad he's doing ok but you probably won't feel better until you can see him. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for both of you
Thank you! I’m hoping once I get there and can snuggle him I will feel better. It’s awful. I’m going to have to leave him here and go home once they discharge me, but I’m hoping he stays strong and only has to stay one week. I’m trying to take it day by day, but I am so anxious.
@robinj716. Oh my goodness! Our first baby! Please make another post with your birth story (when you’re feeling up to it) so we can keep those separate! Im so glad both of you are doing ok. I hope you get in this evening to see your LO! Does the nicu have certain hours you can visit or is it whenever you can? I hope you can stay as long as you want/need.
Robin! Firstly, congratulations mama! The events leading up to baby coming reads so stressful, so sorry you're going through that and baby is in NICU. Keep your head up high and talk everything out with someone whenever you're feeling down or want to express something, even a journal could really help- stay positive. Glad to also read baby is doing okay. Hope you get to see your little one soon and you both are able to reunite asap. 🙌
@robinj716 oh welcome baby! Congrats mama, I'm hoping things are going well 🫶 my best friend had a similar experience in September, due October 10 and born September 3 because of pre-e that became HELLP. Crossing my fingers for you and sending you love. Agree with emerald, definitely make your own post when you can!!
Small additional update: I ended up going to L&D at my birthing hospital to have some pelvic pressure and pain around my incision checked out last night. Since I never felt contractions before my first was born and I had leaking without knowing it, I was feeling really anxious about the change. Fortunately baby boy and I are ok. Turns out taking walks the last few days dropped him lower in my body and I’m a bit constipated which caused the pressure. No signs of leaking and all the swab tests they did came back normal/negative. It’s a huge relief but wow it really adds to the stress of things to feel so unaware of what’s happening with my own body.
@midnightatsunset I'm glad to hear everything is well, but I'm sure that was nervewracking a whole month before your CS date ❤️ even with this being my 4th baby, with my labors by and large being very similar, I still feel like labor is so unpredictable and an exhausting mental game at the end. It's tough, and stressful, and while it's totally better to get checked out and be safe, it doesn't change that it's hard.
Re: Weekly check in w/o Feb 9th
Exciting - my sprinkle was on Saturday and despite it being the coldest day in 15 years (it for real felt like -10) and having an ice cream party, it was lovely and perfect and just what I had envisioned for our 2nd little one.
