Breach position and Gestational Diabetes

Hey ladies. I am expecting my first baby. I’m 36 weeks and am newly diagnosed with gestational diabetes only on my fasting level. Everything with baby has been great. Normal weight, amniotic fluid, movement. Everything has been great with her. Except my baby is still in the breach position. So because of this new finding with gestational diabetes, they are wanting to schedule a c-section for a couple weeks before my due date. Of course I’m hoping bay girl will turn on her own and that won’t be necessary. But I am conflicted about even doing a c section because of this. Anyone gone through something similar and have some insight? It would be much appreciated.
