5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: BH, soreness in my back and thighs. Itchy, tight belly as my skin stretches more.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: we got our used minivan and love it so much!
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): how is January treating you so far? Does anyone struggle with the winter blues?
In the past I have really struggled with seasonal depression. So far it hasn’t hit me, but I am having trouble getting to sleep/getting out of bed. Whether that’s pregnancy or mental health related (both?) I have no idea.
3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: Had one today. Measuring well. This OB's equipment has shadowing and the office hasn't replaced the machine so annoying so I have absolutely terrible imaging.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: got a second job tutoring remotely so I can have an additional option while I'm recovering. Basically reviewing papers.
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): how is January treating you so far? Does anyone struggle with the winter blues?
January has been fine. Just low energy, feeling uncomfortable with the size, the baby's kicks are hard and painful at times as he stretches. Lack of proper sleep. Overall, I'm okay mentally just trying to make it through.
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: I cannot breathe!! I can barely eat either because it feels like i don't have enough room in my body for baby, air, and food. The acid reflux is still very present, and I'm having a ton of BH contractions. Sleep is a little better but I'm tired all the time anyway.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: We finally chose our name with some help from our kids! Who all sided with dad (though they didn't know that), the little traitors 😂 our moses basket bassinet also arrived today and we set it up in our room and it feels so surreal to imagine a tiny baby in there so soon!
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): how is January treating you so far? Does anyone struggle with the winter blues? We have had some illness in the house near constantly since the new year but it feels like we're finally out of the woods. It's been really draining and anxiety inducing, both in just worrying about sick kids but also feeling like we were rapidly falling behind in nesting because the kids just needed our full attention. Now I have a trial next week so work is going to be insanely busy until the end of the month. I'm looking forward to it but also very tired just thinking about it haha. Then February will basically entirely be preparing my cases for my leave. I'll get to start WFH at 37 weeks until baby comes to save my leave!
3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: Had one yesterday, go back 2/3 for a quick appointment (no scan)
4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: Girl
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: Just feeling large. My heartburn seemed to have dissipated but now it's back with a vengeance. I'm having BH, and it's just generally uncomfortable to move, especially at night. I mentioned my itchiness to the doctor who wasn't super concerned but said if I continue to notice it or it gets worse within a week or so, he'll check my blood for bile acids. Also, I had a cold over New Years' and my throat still feels super irritated when I swallow, which is annoying.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: Hadt a 3D scan yesterday! I've never had one of those before - I had to get my scan at a different office this time and they had more advanced technology. The baby is SO cute and looks just like my other daughter, which means she looks like Dad. I was hoping this one would look like me but it doesn't seem that way. Also, she's now head down! Fingers crossed she stays that way.
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): how is January treating you so far? Does anyone struggle with the winter blues? My daughter's birthday is in January (was this past weekend) so that's always fun getting ready for it and doing the fun birthday stuff. She had a great time and a really fun party, despite it costing a small fortune...otherwise, I find January to be sort of depressing. It also irks me when people keep their Christmas lights up too long, sort of like a reminder that it's not the holiday season anymore.
8.) Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴꜱ: Anyone else thinking about when they may take leave from work? I am really trying to go through my due date because I don't want to sacrifice any of my time off but commuting is really taking a toll on me. Also, another woman here just gave birth and literally worked up until the day before so now I'm comparing myself and feeling guilty that it's getting too tough for me.
@fifilala516 tomorrow is my last day at work, I was able to get vacation until my due date (sounds crazy but it's only like 10 shifts, yay shift work!). I agree commuting - driving in general- is remarkably uncomfortable. I dont think my first was so bad. Try not to compare to others, your experience is your own and it's totally valid to go off early if that is what is best for you and baby.
1.) ʙᴀʙʏ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ: 2
2.) ᴅᴜᴇ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ (ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ+ᴅᴀʏꜱ): march 11, 32+6
3.) ɴᴇxᴛ ᴀᴘᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ: had another ultrasound on MFM today, she was tiny on the one I had last week so my OB sent me to MFM for more measurements. She is still small, though less small than last week. Mostly they are worries about her abdomen being so little compared to the rest of her, today she was 10th%, last week was 7th%. I have another ultrasound there in two weeks and as long as she rides the line of 10%+ they are ok. But if she drops below again they will start looking at early c section
4.) ɢᴇɴᴅᴇʀ: girl
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: heartburn in getting worse for sure, I'm tired more than anything but I have terrible insomnia at night.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: I'm excited to be off work,
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): January has been ok so far! Got the living room repainted and it's so much brighter in there now. It's been millennial grey since we moved in and we painted it a pale peachy cream colour. It suites the house much better, our house is a riot of colour so the grey really stuck out and felt dingy
@fifilala516 I agree with @lizdiane456 either way! Commuting is hard, and just because someone else can or chose to do something specific with their leave doesn't mean you have to! I have spent the last few weeks seriously considering asking my midwife if she would write me a letter to be able to take STD early because the pelvic pain I have when walking from sitting in a desk chair all day can be very intense. I only have one more month before I'll be able to WFH until baby comes, but it feels like eternity some days when I just want to be able to throw in some laundry while reading cases and emails.
@fifilala516 people in Alaska leave lights up until the last musher comes through the finish line on the sled races. Before I realized that it irked me and I was like, what is wrong with these people?! Also, I’m not sure you could get them down until spring anyways because of the ice.
5.) ꜱʏᴍᴘᴛᴏᴍꜱ: my hips are so loose. They crack when I get up and down out of bed. Heartburn is bad. Lots of contractions. I’m also itchy. I think I’m having eczema from the cold temps though. My pregnancy has also made my cold urticaria worse than normal. I get flu like symptoms when I'm exposed to temps below freezing.
6.) ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴇxᴄɪᴛɪɴɢ/ᴀɴɴᴏʏɪɴɢ: we are in California. It rained today which was rough. Yesterday was overcast which made the temps nicer but I want some vitamin D. We need it so bad because we barely get sun right now in Alaska. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny. I hope it stays that way. I can’t do another day in the rain.
7.) ɢᴛᴋʏ (ꜱʜᴀʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ): how is January treating you so far? Does anyone struggle with the winter blues?
this trip was suppose to be a pick me up for my winter blues. I’m praying for more sunshine. Either way, we spent some time away from the snow and that’s better than nothing.

the bus isn’t so bad but the subway, especially all the stairs, is getting hard!
