We live in a small 2 bed 1 bath with an attached/enclosed sunroom and have a baby due in March!
Maybe this is just pregnancy anxiety but I’m starting to worry about the nursery location in our house. The nursery has a door that’s attached to the sunroom. We’re turning the sunroom into a playroom but the sunroom has a door that leads out into the backyard.
Both the sunroom door and the nursery door have two locks on it, but it worries me that both these doors are mostly glass and anyone could break in :/ I mean, we live in a relatively safe area but you never know I guess.
I think I’m freaking out over nothing lol. Any reassurance here or any safety precaution advice for the nursery/sunroom?
Re: Nervous about nursery location in my house
Totally understandable worries — pregnancy anxiety has a way of zooming in on stuff like this. Honestly, what you’re describing sounds pretty normal, especially since both doors already have double locks. A lot of homes have glass doors, and break-ins are still rare in safe areas. If it gives you peace of mind, you could add shatter-resistant film, a simple door sensor, or even a baby monitor that alerts to movement near the sunroom. Sometimes just layering small safety measures really helps calm the nerves. Also, you’re clearly being thoughtful and proactive — that already means your baby will be well protected. If you ever want decor ideas that double as cozy and calming, I’ve even called the TwinklingTree phone number before for nursery-safe lighting questions and they were helpful.
