Re: Weekly check in 1/5/2026
and I’m a big fan of vague goals right now haha. I used to be all about SMART goals and life audits but wow that does not work in this season haha

Also, my dad is in the hospital so that's stressing me out. It's serious but he's stable and seems to be under very good care. He's having surgery tomorrow.
Quick update on my ultrasounds - everything came back looking normal! The pediatric cardiologist even said he looked at the original scan and said he had trouble seeing what they called a small hole. He of course, did the medical due diligence thing and said it’s always possible things will get missed but that he studied the scans really closely (and even scanned in real-time with the tech afterwards) to make extra sure. So yay! I can plan to birth at my preferred hospital and on the same timeline!!
@midnightatsunset I'm so happy to hear your good news!! Both that baby is healthy and you can move forward with the birth you were anticipating ❤️ when we found out our scare with our last baby was just a false alarm, I remember how astounding the relief was! Thinking of you, I know even when you get the best possible news there's still a lot to process/debrief from the what ifs.
I am not an epidural girl. Even with my one hospital birth I didn't opt for one, but it's obviously not an option for homebirths lol. I have had precipitous labors (meaning extremely fast, depending on who you ask 3-5 hours or less for the whole thing, my labors were 5, 3, and 2.5 hrs very first contraction to baby in arms), so I wouldn't have any time for one unfortunately even if me and needles agreed with each other! As with anything in birth, this is my personal preference and I think mom should always choose what is best for her.
