Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: The length of a large conch shell
Upcoming appointments: Repeat anatomy ultrasound in Jan
How are you feeling?: I'm alright. Really happy that the nausea is almost gone. I'm definitely still tired and my hips are starting to hurt by the end of the day if I'm too active.
Rants/Raves: Rave: Had my first craving and spouse went to get it for me at night. Tuna melt from a diner, so weirdly specific and so delicious lol.
Questions: Is everyone doing ok? The board is really quiet.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday tradition? I really like making Christmas cookies and then eating them with the fam while we watch cheesy holiday movies.
@ferret22 I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been wondering where the hell people are. I get that it's a busy time of year for most! But man, our threads haven't even gotten to a 2nd page 😆. My July 2022 BMB was regularly active and there's 10-15 of us who still communicate when we migrated off of TB. I always appreciated the structure that TB had in their forums unlike all the other apps/websites that are a little more like the Wild West lol.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: May 11 / 20 weeks today! Halfway there!

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: team blue 💙 although I keep having this fear that the upcoming anatomy scan is going to tell us different from the NIPT 😅
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: weighs as much as a mango this week
Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan on 1/2! I'll be almost 22 weeks by then 🥴
How are you feeling?: no more nausea. Still struggling sometimes with sleep but it's getting better!
Rants/Raves: it's been so damn cold lately! I'm already over it being winter!
Questions: who has experience with the newborn stage and only using a convertible car seat for transport and skipping using the infant seat? Curious if anyone tried it and liked it or tried it and hated it and eventually bought the infant seat.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday tradition? I bake one type of cookie every year for my family's Christmas. Peanut butter kiss cookies 😋. I also like to get at least 1 Christmas movie on my watch list. My BF loves all the typical Christmas movies so I've watched quite a few this year!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: weighs as much as two rolls of nickels.
Upcoming appointments: Had my anatomy scan last week, next is the glucose test on 1/14.
How are you feeling?: Overall really good. Definitely getting some insomnia over the past week and sleeping is getting more uncomfortable generally but other than that can't complain.
Rants/Raves: Rave- had a relaxing weekend getaway to Orcas Island last weekend.
Questions: My sister in law wants to get us the Doona car seat (with the built in wheels). I was set on a normal, Graco one that pops into a stroller. Anyone have opinions/thoughts? An extra base for the Doona coats as much as another normal car seat!
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday tradition? My husband and I have started an annual Christmas day hike tradition ☺️
@inthewoods23, Yeah my October 2022 group was awesome and we were very active for a long time. It's so weird it's a ghost town here, I don't even know where else I'd go for that kind of community. For the car seat, we went straight for the infant one so I'm not sure on convertible. As for cookies, peanut butter kisses are always on my list! They are a crowd favorite lol. It's usually those, shortbread cookies and a random other one if I'm feeling adventurous. I decorate the shortbread cookies with icing and it's a good not too sweet combo.
@ellie_asaurus I think we left our car seat in the car more often and didn't really click it into our stroller much. I struggled a bit with taking the seat in and out of the car even though it's supposed to be easy and light. Not a Graco one but same idea
I was also wondering why this group has been so quiet! I was part of the June 2024 group (although baby boy ended up being born in July), and that group was sooo active! It was great! I especially enjoyed it since I was a FTM. I was fascinated hearing about how everyone’s pregnancy experiences were similar/different.
In response to the car seat, we had one of each. We had an infant seat in my husband’s truck (the vehicle we used most often) and a convertible seat in my car. We’ll do the same this time too.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a 20fl oz water bottle
Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan and OB appt on 12/29!
How are you feeling?: really good, just very tired. My 17 month old hasn’t let me sleep through the night once since he’s been born…well, actually since before he was born (I had bad insomnia in my third trimester with him).
Rants/Raves: Rant - I have an anterior placenta, so I’m rarely feeling subtle movement. I was definitely feeling my son move around by now and LOVED it, so I’m bummed that it could still be several weeks before I feel this baby much. Rave - My latest craving has been apples. I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve ever had a healthy craving! 😅 I’m thankful
Questions: if you have/had an anterior placenta, when did you start feeling baby move more regularly?
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday tradition? I’ve never been very traditional. I love the holiday season, and I’m doing my best to make it magical for my kid(s). Maybe we’ll have traditions one day, but as of now, we just do what feels right each year:)
Yay someone else did a weekly check-in post!!! I did a few and then was wondering if anyone else really cared much. I didn’t do the bump app with my first kiddo so I don’t have a sense of what’s typical here. Glad a few other people are wanting more activity ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: butternut squash week
Upcoming appointments: had my 20 week ultrasound last week, OB appointment is on Monday.
How are you feeling?: meh. I’ve been sick and not really wanting to eat much. Totally exhausted despite being solidly in the second trimester so I’m a little cranky I’m not getting that awesome boost of energy I got the first time around. Otherwise though everything is going pretty well and I don’t like to complain because my symptoms are super mild and I feel pretty lucky.
Rants/Raves: heartburn ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 such a bummer!!!!
Questions: annoyingly the weak pelvic floor has shown up very early this time around. Glad I’m seeing my OB next week, because I think I’m going to request seeing a pelvic floor specialist. I prefer to save the diapers for after the delivery if at all possible 🤣 anyone else dealing with this? Or has anyone seen a pelvic floor PT? Hard to imagine fitting another type of doctors appointment regularly into my schedule right now, but it feels like it’s pretty important.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday tradition? for New Year’s, my husband, and I always write a list of our favorite memories from the year and our hopes for the future year and then seal it in an envelope. We open up the prior year’s and read it together. It’s nice to see what actually happened that we were hoping for, and what was unexpected. We also don’t see each others until we open the prior year’s envelope.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a vintage PlayStation controller lol
Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan on January 6th!!! So excited to see baby
How are you feeling?: came down with a cold last night and it’s the first time I’ve been sick while pregnant so that’s no fun. Let me know if anyone has any home remedies
Rants/Raves: im not sure when to share my pregnancy on social media! Im usually a pretty private person but am over the moon about our baby girl and want to share. When did others share the news?
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday tradition? Definitely cookie decorating. I grew up with parents who held “cookie weekends” where everyone came for the weekend and baked and decorated tons of cookies. I want to do the same thing for my kids
