Re: Weekly Check-In w/o Dec 8

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 12-26 / 37 & 3

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: 3rd

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: blue

Upcoming Appointments: Thursday 38 week OB appt, Friday 38 week growth scan

How are you feeling? UGH. I had contractions off and on all weekend. But they were anywhere from 3 to 15 apart and under a minute in length. With varied intensity from about a 6 to a 9 in pain. Just waiting at this point, very over being pregnant and ready to have my body (mostly) back to being mine. Very tired and achy but thats not surprising.

Rants/Raves: We got a bunch of stuff done this weekend, which is probably the reason for the contractions, and I’m trying to wrap up everything at work since it really could be anytime.

Trying to push through and get at least some more stuff crossed off my to-do list this week. Tree should be up later today, will do another lice treatment today/tomorrow for us all and working on all the laundry.

Questions: have your animals(if you have any) behavior changed? Our cat has taken to sleeping curled up on the side of my belly when I go to bed over the last week or so and being more up all in the belly space in general.

GTKY: Do you make New Year's Resolutions? If so, how have you done with your 2025 resolutions? If not, why not?

I think my 2025 one was to drink more water or at the least be more mindful of my water intake. And I feel pretty good that I’ve done that. I haven’t made one for the new year yet.

  • @thatbaintforbetty my dog has become a stage 5 clinger, though he was already a snuggle bug before pregnancy. In a not so happy turn of events, he has become increasingly growl-y ONLY at nighttime. I think he can tell something is about to change, but doesn't understand what (his two brain cells are working reallyyyyy hard)
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 38+3

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: 6TM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: 💚

    Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow

How are you feeling? Good! Slowing down and listening to my body. Crampy today, but the end is near….

Rants/Raves: I’m hybrid at work and have to go in office tomorrow and I’m praying I can get thru the day with no aches and pains.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: Do you make New Year's Resolutions? If so, how have you done with your 2025 resolutions? If not, why not?
No, I’m just busy with kids and life in general I don’t have time to think of a new years resolution
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 38+4

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: FTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: 🩷

    Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday

How are you feeling? Like my pelvis could break in half any time I go from sitting to standing up; physically so ready for this baby to make her debut, but then the FTM nerves get the best of me and I am ok with her cooking for a little longer in there

    Rants/Raves: Acid. Reflux. 😖 that’s all

On a positive, got pretty much all of my Christmas shopping done this weekend and most of the gifts wrapped already.

Questions: Anyone have stories of going into labor without experiencing a ton of prodromal labor / Braxton Hicks? I thought there would be more of that at this point

GTKY: Do you make New Year's Resolutions? If so, how have you done with your 2025 resolutions? If not, why not? I dont typically make resolutions just because I suck at keeping to them. Plus they are generally broad and hard to achieve

@thatbaintforbetty I have two cats that have generally been uninterested in my pregnancy. We expected it of the orange boy, because we adopted him as a kitten and was neutered at a young age; we joke that babies are a totally foreign concept to him. He occasionally makes a big show of having to contort to get around my belly to spoon under the covers, but otherwise he's no different.
Our older tortie had a litter of kittens before we adopted her, so we expected her to have a better sense of what was going on and maybe a stronger reaction. But if she knows she's not telling! The only small change might be that she seeks my attention slightly more often now (she's the kind of cat who is generally standoffish and likes her space, but then will act desperate for pets and scritches for exactly 2 minutes on a random Wednesday).
My husband recently booted me to the guest bedroom because my snoring was keeping him awake, and, in a rather shocking turn of events, both cats migrated with me. They typically cuddle with him because I move more to stay comfortable. But whether that move is because of the pregnancy or just because they happen to really like the blanket I put on the bed...
  • @thatbaintforbetty Been thinking of you this week. Have the contractions continued? I know you were hoping to go closer to 38 weeks than 39, so keeping my fingers crossed that things are progressing for you!

@caffeinatedandtired You’re almost to the end, hang in there!!

    Upcoming Appointments: pre-op appt on 12/16, c-section on 12/18

How are you feeling? Anxious. Excited. Relieved that other than the breech situation this has remained an uncomplicated pregnancy. Had my 38-week appointment yesterday and fluid levels were still good and everything with baby looked great, so unless they pull a stunt and decide to kick-start labor in the next week we’ll get to welcome them as planned. Which means this time next week I’ll have a baby in my arms 😳

Rants/Raves: I need people to be better at finding the line between acknowledging that a c-section wasn’t my first choice for delivery and getting stuck on that fact. I can’t handle any more “ooh, bummer” reactions to the change of plans…

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you make New Year's Resolutions? If so, how have you done with your 2025 resolutions? If not, why not? I do—I love the opportunity to start fresh and/or recommit to the things I care about most. This year’s resolutions were to finally find a church in my new city (check-ish, been going to one semi-regularly the last couple months but not totally sold); clean up and organize the basement enough that I don’t have to guard it from the cats (check); finally get the kitchen remodeled (check); and try at least one new restaurant each month (will be a check once we dine at Yianni’s Gyro Place next Tuesday 😂). Not sure what I’ll have the energy to make resolutions on next year, though!

  • @aisleofviewtwo so close! Impressed by your ability to make resolutions and check them off!!
  • @aisleofviewtwo I love that restaurant resolution!

I actually responded to you and my phone ate the dang reply so I had to start over. Ugh.

Still frequent but sporadic contractions, doc said I was dilated to a 1 yesterday and did as much of a sweep as she could. I didn’t think it had done much but I definitely lost my mucus plug tonight so maybe things are moving! Might break out the breast pump tomorrow and see what that does.

Had my 38 week growth scan today (last appointment before my induction🥳) and they said he’s 8lbs +/- a bit, and 80th percentile😱.

Hang in there! Also im sorry people are buttheads in regards to your birth plan!

  • @caffeinatedandtired my mom loves to tell the story of my dads dog that was honestly pretty apathetic towards her till she got pregnant with me and then would not let anyone near her. Like would stand in front of her belly when my dad would try to hug her and bare his teeth. He went back to normal towards her when I was born and instead was the best nanny dog ever, he would sit outside my play pen and pick up every toy I threw out and put it back in. For hours! He was like 150lb oversized Doberman who terrified most with just a look and yet was the gentlest thing towards me.
