  • Thinking of you all and hoping you’re getting lots of baby snuggles and at least a little rest.

We are doing ok here!  It’s still overwhelming to leave the house, I got super excited when I had the time AND actually remembered to trim the hangnails that have been bothering me for 2 days, we’re pretty much bathing in spit up and overall soaking in these early days and also letting myself cry on the hard nights.  (We had a night recently where we were both sobbing 😭😂 My husband rescued us both 😅)

  • @virginiaham I need to clip baby’s nails so bad… why does that feel like an insurmountable task?! I also need to schedule a chiro appointment for me, but again, doing anything outside of feeding baby feels impossible.

We had a “good” night of sleep last night. George was up at 9pm, 1am, 3:30, 5:15, and 7. That is the best stretch we’ve had in a while.
  • @brookejay06 glad it was better sleep stretches the other night.

INSURMOUNTABLE…and then I had the thought after seeing a reel at 3am, “oh wow maybe I should get into sourdough” 🤣🤣

  • It's going.... lol I'm exhausted. Aoife is sleeping lots during the day and not so much at night. I need to figure out how to switch her days and nights. 🫠 I also have to clip baby's nails. We got a set of frida baby nail clippers that have the hole on top so you can see what you're doing, and they came with a little nail file. I am going to to file her nails tomorrow after a bath.
  • Okay as a reminder- FTM here.
I’m still having some soreness/pain when I stand too long. And by too long I mean like 10-15 min. I know every body and every labor/delivery and every healing process is different but I can’t believe I know annd have seen people be up and about days after giving birth🥴 And wtf the first clot I passed I ran to the ER. That was the day we were discharged. Looking forward to that bill. My midwife was in L&D and came over to do an ultrasound and press hard af on my belly and all is well, but it was the size they say to flag but that I should have just called. Also, I am super frustrated with breastfeeding, this is hard. I have to use a nipple shield and even then idk how much he’s getting. I feel like I don’t have time to do much other than feed him (a little over an hour affair between trying to BF, pump, then bottle) and try to sleep, hence my super late and super short reply here! Wild change and super taxing on the mental health - everyone meant it when they said post partum is hard! The past few days have been better generally we have a process for night time so at least we’re getting better sleep now, but it’s still way hard just a little lighter than the first week was.

    Sending yall love 🫶🏻
