Food Cravings

Confessions of a pregnant woman…

Last night I ate a baked sweet potato.  And all I could think about was how good the sweet potatoes with melted marshmallows are at thanksgiving.

So I got the marshmallow fluff out of the cabinet.  I was not disappointed. LOL

Your turn!

Re: Food Cravings

  • Pregnancy cravings are wild, and mine have definitely kept me on my toes! Lately, I’ve been obsessed with pickles dipped in cream cheese (don’t judge until you try it 😅) and anything cold and fruity—think popsicles, frozen grapes, and smoothies. But the weirdest one so far? I once woke up at 3 a.m. absolutely needing peanut butter on waffles… with a side of olives.

  • Fresh pressed juices and fruity smoothies taste like heaven. I also have daily ice cream cravings, and this one is hard to fight but I keep it out of our house and only eat on weekends. Oh and pickles - spicy chips with pickles, watermelon with tajin & pickles, etc.
  • Not really any cravings yet. Going on week 17 with twins. I already ate a lot of pickles but I have noticed they seem extra good now. I have orange juice in the mornings now but it’s mostly because I’m tired of drinking water 24/7. I do seem to enjoy any form of potatoes more. Baked potatoes, fries, and potato chips. I’ve always ate yogurt but I’ve noticed it definitely helps with regular BM now.
  • I’ve been craving sweet carbs. Cake, donuts, and especially chewy chocolate chip cookies.
  • That sounds amazing! Pregnancy cravings are wild; I once dipped fries in ice cream while googling the McDonald's senior menu with prices to see if I could justify a second trip. No regrets!

I’ve always dipped fries in ice cream! It’s the best lol
  • Do you know what you’re having?

I ate half a watermelon by myself for lunch the other day and then went grocery shopping with my kids. 10/10 do not recommend 😂. It’s a lot of fiber all at once 😂

Haha that actually sounds amazing — pregnancy cravings are on a whole new level! Sweet potato with marshmallow fluff totally counts as creative meal planning in my book. For me, one of the funniest cravings was pickles with cream cheese (don’t knock it till you try it!). If you ever want to switch it up with ready-made comfort meals, I’ve found cookunity to be a lifesaver, and it’s easy to look up how to contact cookunity for more options.
