How are you feeling? Huge, itchy, tired, leaky (boobs), having to pee allllll the time. And of course like there is a wrestling match going on inside me.
Rants/raves: had to break out my breast pads, which I wasn’t sure I still had but was surprisingly happy to discover them easily in my closet, because my left boob has decided it’s going to have a slow leak. 🧐
DH and the girls all got flu shots this weekend and nobody screamed! I think that’s a first and they definitely got a treat afterwards in recognition.
Questions: anybody have bunk beds for older kids? DD1 broke her bed frame, not shocking, and I’m contemplating moving them to bunk beds since their room is so small.
GTKY: Have you started nesting? Not really. With DD2 I literally dreamt of how to rearrange closets 🤣 (Although maybe since I’m thinking of completely redoing the room^)

@iwantcookies I forgot to ask on last week’s thread but when is your next ultrasound / how did it go?? I know the first thing they’re probably wanting to rule out is polyhydramnios (increased amniotic fluid) though I don’t have experience with it. Hoping you’re able to get things checked out quickly.

How are you feeling? An old back strain is flaring up again and forcing me to slow down and the busy bee in me is raging against it 😂
Rants/Raves: y’all I’m frustrated. I just happen to have my annual appt in August with my PCM who is in the functional medicine/root cause mindset. My nutrition and iron labs looked terrible (anemia, low blood protein, low calcium), and my repeat labs haven’t really improved despite starting iron and eating avg 150g protein/day—which is making me wonder if I have some malabsorption issues because I’ve always been underweight. The midwife hasn’t really been concerned pregnancy-wise to this point because my other two were both healthy/term/appropriate weight, plus I’m asymptomatic, urine dipstick is fine, I’m gaining weight and I’m measuring on track. Like I can’t chase these labs. If the growth scan looks good and midwife says she isn’t concerned on Thursday I think I just need to tell my PCM to chill with this until a few months after I deliver. Maybe the root cause of my crap labs is literally just pregnancy 😅
Questions:
GTKY: Have you started nesting? Completely, and also experienced the weird rage when I can’t get to something nesting-wise that I desperately want to do (is this normal orrr pathological?? 🙈). So far cleaned/detailed the second hand stroller we got, cleared out/cleaned the corner for the mini crib where she’ll sleep in our room, washed the clothes and blankets/wraps/burp cloths we kept from our other kids, and have my list of things to order. Also a huge list of things I’d like to declutter but some of those may be infant nap projects.

@thatbaintforbetty we do. We have three sets of bunk and actually juat had a triple bunk delivered today. Usually by 2 they move out od the crib and into a bottom bunk.
We'd never make it in the space we have with the amount of kids we have lol. Bunk beds are an absolute saving grace.
I refuse to get the fun ones. And we have pretty strict rules about playing on them. But truthfully my kids don't play in their rooms anyways as they'd rather be outside or in the living room with us.

@virginiaham I’m surprised that you are seeing your primary for an annual while pregnant, given all the tolls pregnancy takes on the body I would imagine a many number of indicators would be flagged by non pregnant standards. I know specifically my breathing is probably much less efficient/easy and would warrant further testing given my asthma diagnosis but since pregnancy fucks over your lungs it’s more within “normal” range given that. My watch actually adjusted a ton of things once I logged my pregnancy because of the standards being different. It alerted me several times to the fact that my breathing/heart rate/sleep etc all changed but they are not out of the norm for pregnancy just out of the norm for me non pregnant.
Also my MFM is way stricter about my a1c numbers than my GP. Cannot wait to be off the super strict diet, and actually be able to eat a full meal without feeling like my stomach is in my throat.
I really love the movement to acknowledge that disliking how pregnancy makes you feel and saying thats it’s hard and sucks does not mean you are not grateful and thankful to be pregnant.

@thatbaintforbetty yeah, she doesn’t see pregnant patients and probably doesn’t know the lab value ranges to reference other than the standard labs. Thankfully I just found them and it’ll be a much more productive conversation having those third tri ranges to reference—& I’m anticipating the midwife will be pretty much unconcerned as long as the growth scan looks good. We are pretty much just kicking things to the dietitian at this point and I know the dietitian’s perspective will include pregnancy and nursing.

Upcoming Appointments: Just saw my DR today. Heartbeat sounded so good and strong! Officially moving up to every 2 weeks for appointments.
How are you feeling? I tested coming off the nausea meds, and I seem to be good! So I'm off those, and I feel much less tired, shockingly? Which I find funny considering I only took them before bed and can't sleep lol.
Rants/Raves: The pregnancy insomnia has hit. But also my heartburn is at an all-time high, so getting to sleep is the bane of my existence. My massage therapist said I should probably go see a physiotherapist since my pain doesn't seem to be sciatica anymore. So I gotta book that this week.
Questions: n/a
GTKY: Have you started nesting? Um, no LOL But I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that my stuff is all still set up? I have a 15 month old so all the baby stuff is still lingering around. All I have to do is give the smaller clothes a refresh before the baby is born, but... that's it.
Sorry I was MIA last week. I was having an issue with my CPAP supply company not sending my supplies and not sleeping well. I had headaches every day last week. It was difficult to do much of anything.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 12/6 28w3d FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: IC Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink Upcoming Appointments: just had my growth scan yesterday at MFM. Baby girl is in the 59th percentile and weighs 2lb14oz already. I failed my 1hr glucose test so I'm sure I will have to do the 3 hour in the next week or so. How are you feeling? Tired, itchy, tired, more tired... my labs all came back normal. I just think not being able to sleep last week really messed me up. I have to pee all the time. Baby girl is hanging out low. Rants/Raves: The DME supply company wouldn't send me my CPAP supplies until they got the clinical notes from my pulmonary dr, except he sent them back in June. The company was trying to make me pay out of pocket even though I hit my deductible. If I am "non-compliant" for too long, the insurance won't pay for it. I ended up calling them and saying, "Please make a note in my file that I am trying to be compliant, but because your company isn't moving ahead with shipping the supplies, I cannot be." They ✨️magically✨️ got delivered last Friday. Questions: I plan on breastfeeding, and I still have the pump from my pregnancy 3 years ago. Do you think I need to get a new one through insurance? 🤔 GTKY: Have you started nesting? In my mind, yes. Physically, no. Lol I want things set up and cleaned, but I just do not have the energy to do it. I really think pregnancy brain coupled with ADHD will require me to have a body double just sitting in my bedroom while I do stuff. And not my DH or DS.
@virginiaham I'm glad you found the pregnancy labs numbers. I hope your doctor can take it easy on you since life is stressful enough!
@thatbaintforbetty yes! I love being pregnant, but sometimes it really really sucks. I think being able to acknowledge that and be open about it is so helpful, especially for mental health reasons. Like maybe my PPD will be less likely or severe this time because I am able to validate the sucky parts of pregnancy openly, rather than, "Oh well you signed up for this."
@bridgiebee82 I also have a pump from 3 years ago, and also plan to BF. But I’m still getting a new one through insurance bc they change so much! There are lots of hands free options now. And some of the tech has improved. Will I like the hands free one? Who knows, but if it’s covered by insurance might as well have it in case.
How are you feeling? Go through waves of exhaustion and feeling like I can take on the world, waking up at night more frequently to go to the bathroom or just flop over in bed. I have a random left sided rib cage pain that comes and goes and makes laying on my left side not fun.
Rants/Raves: Starting to get tired of putting on clothes that fit me last week and realizing they won't be fitting me anymore for the next couple of months. I just have a short fuse lately and a lot of things annoy me more than they typically would LOL
Questions: N/a
GTKY: Have you started nesting? Agreed with @bridgiebee82 - physically, no, but mentally, yes. Called my mom and asked if she would come help me clean out some things because I have a tendency to hold onto stuff that hasn't been used in years "just in case" - so that's a start!
@virginiaham The soonest they could fit me in was this Thursday, which is fine because I am comfortable with the movement levels I get from baby so not overtly concerned there but concerned enough that I know I want the scan ASAP. At least my blood work came back. Passed the glucose barely but we found out I'm anemic (iron) so I've been put on iron supplements which even after a week and a half has made a HUGE difference in my energy levels and mental state. (my iron was a 4 x_x). It explains why I've felt overly fatigued, exhausted and out of sorts, I haven't even had a severe enough dip in BP since starting the supplements (or at least one I could tell I was dipping).
@bridgiebee82 From talking with my coworkers they're surprised how the tech has changed even in the last 5 years for pump. If its simple with your insurance/free I would get a new one. Maybe a different style one than the one you have. I just got mine but had to get my doctor to send a prescription in order for my insurance to cover it. I would also see if your insurance covers the pump and then milk bags. I ended up with 300 bags free of charge with the pump.

How are you feeling? Better, I still get tired and hard to focus but the focus is due to the fact I can't have my ADHD meds. Sleep is no longer constant. Waking up to pee and roll over OFTEN. Baby boy likes to cuddle on my right side so most times I end up having to stay laying on my left. Whenever I lay on my right I get really uncomfortable like he's cramming himself there.
Rants/Raves: Because I live across the country from my immediate family I don't see them as often. I stopped doing holidays because it just got too expensive and extended family and friends stopped making an effort to see me when in town. I thankfully saw my brother and parents back in January pre pregnant. The last time I saw my brother before that was 3 years prior. I haven't seen either of my sisters in 4 years but one of them will be flying in to see me this weekend and I am stoked. Its not like we hate each other its just life has gotten in the way of us being able to visit.
Questions: None.
GTKY: Have you started nesting? Yes. No. Mentally Yes I have a laundry list of things to do but I just don't have the motivation to do them. Like sign up for a infant first aid course or breast feeding course oh or even start decorating the baby's room. We have the big items (aside from crib mattress) but trying to wait out on clothes, swaddles, diapers etc. since a lot of people have mentioned they want to buy us a bunch of that stuff. Realistically next month I'm going to start shopping waiting for others be damn lol.
I will say I have melted down because I felt like i had to clean the house at this very instant while hubby just sat and watched tv in which I was like why am i doing everything. So I feel you there @virginiaham
