Lovenox Shots??!!

Hello February Mamas,

Just wondering if anyone is having to get Lovenox shots during their pregnancy? I am currently having to have them. I had my first two kids back to back with no complications. I’ve always wanted 3. Unfortunately, I have had two miscarriages in the last year. I was advised to go to a fertility specialist. Through bloodwork they found I tested positive for 2 of the markers for blood clotting disorder. They think this caused my miscarriages.

Anyways, just wanted to chat with anyone who may also be doing the shots. I’m really struggling with them. They are awful. 😩
I am extremely thankful for this pregnancy and if I have to do the shots to make it a successful pregnancy no doubt I will!!

I take the shots daily but it was due to a DVT in my first pregnancy with no other markers. The preventive shots (.40ml) daily are smaller and hurt far less. I take them in my belly, while I have the fat to do so. If I notice any resistance to the needle or a blood drop I will find a different spot— that’s helped with pain and bruising. Some brands have duller needles, I switched pharmacies because of this— something to consider. It’s definitely worth taking the shots even if they suck :-/
