When did your nausea REALLY hit you?

Hi all, I’m 8 weeks today according to my app (I’m sure that will change slightly after my first ultrasound on 9/19) - I’ve had very minimal nausea, no vomiting. Extremely fortunate. But I’ve noticed over the last few days (and today it hit me the worst about a half hour ago) where I almost started dry heaving literally outta the blue. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it normal for nausea to start a little delayed? Or for it to just hit randomly outta the blue like it did to me?

Re: When did your nausea REALLY hit you?

  • I’m also 8w - I’ve had low grade nausea since about 6w, but the last couple days it’s ramped up and I’ve also been dry heaving randomly. So fun

  • It’s totally normal for nausea to peak right now around 8 weeks, your HCG is peaking.
My nausea hit the day after I peed on the stick and hasn’t let up since. Today was the first day I’ve actually felt human and it’s because my doctor recommended I take b6 and unisom at night, which is apparently a super common/well known thing?
It worked. I didn’t have any nausea today. I put the combo of what my husband bought me at Walgreens in the spoiler!

  • Sorry I just wanna clarify, because I worded my last comment wrong, it’s normal for nausea to START around 8 weeks, totally normal and not “delayed” at all.
Some people’s nausea starts earlier, every body is different, but hormones peaking around 8 weeks makes it totally common for people who have felt fine up to now having nausea start around 8-9 weeks.
  • Yeah I feel like I was having light nausea after meals since like week 5 but end of week 7 started to shift heavy and now I’m doing my best to stay ahead of it but kiddo here sure is having fun pranking me with it. Having night time snack on standby and a banana in the morning with a toast or bagel has been mostly good so far. No telling if the offering will continue to be received so well haha
  • Hello! I’m currently at 9 weeks according to the app, and I’ve read it’s typical to peak for nausea and morning sickness about 7 weeks, but I feel like week 8 was my peak, the nausea isn’t so bad but i have been throwing up once every day, the last three days and scattered a bit before then. But obviously every pregnancy is different just wanted to share mine!
  • I’m 8 weeks today and feel like it really ramped up a knotch. First few weeks it was very mild and mostly isolated to the morning. Today I’ve basically had the all day hangover feeling 😅
