Choosing Wooden Toys for My Baby — Real Talk About Safety and Fun

Hey everyone,
As a mom, I’ve been really torn about what toys to get for my little one. Babies love to put everything in their mouths, and safety is always my top concern. I’ve heard all sorts of warnings about wooden toys — splinters, toxic paint, you name it.
But honestly, after trying a few different kinds, I keep coming back to wooden toys. There’s just something about the feel of real wood that seems more natural and safe. My baby loves holding and chewing on them, and I feel better knowing they don’t contain plastics or weird chemicals.
Plus, wooden toys seem sturdier — they survive all the throwing and chewing much better than plastic ones. And I think they spark more imagination, too, without all the flashing lights or sounds.
I’m curious — how do you feel about wooden toys? Have you tried them? Any brands or tips you trust? Would love to hear your real experiences!
Thanks for sharing!

  • I love wooden toys! I always prefer to send wooden gifts to my nieces and nephews as they are safe and sturdy. If you're looking for something like Montessori type of toys, you can check out Mommy's Little Helper Co. They sell wooden step stools and toddler knives. I gifted my niece a learning tower last year and she learned a lot of things together with her mom!

  • Grimm's is a brilliant brand! And Grapat. We love their wooden toys! But there are also food grade rubber chew toys which are lovely.
