How are you feeling? Exhausted, sore, and heavy. Sciatica and RLP have really ramped up. And I feel like I'm already out of breath/can't catch my breath constantly...
Rants/Raves: Lots of rants this week. 😅 I'm already feeling huge and feel like I can't breathe. Yesterday at church I kept getting dizzy too and could barely stand for more than 15mins at a time. Its way too early for it to be this bad already.. pretty sure a few of the ladies that I don't talk to often at church think I am due like any day now and was in early labor yesterday because I was struggling so bad. 😭 We are catching so much grief for not having a shower for this baby. This is baby #8!! The only thing that is different is that its a girl this time but we are planning on reusing everything from our boys. Even most of their clothes, as so much of it is just solid colored pieces. We will get some dresses and girl specific clothes too for church, pics, and outings and we also have had several people say they have a ton of girl clothes for us too. One excuse for us to have a shower from someone was just do it for diapers and wipes... we do not have a ton of storage space for those things.. then yesterday I was told its not just about what we want/need.... every baby should be celebrated and so many people have been waiting for a girl for us that's its not fair to them to not have shower so they can celebrate her... uuuh. No.
Questions: Na.
GTKY: Any plans for the long Labor Day weekend? Na. My husband just returned to work and is waiting for his official offer letter to his new job so he can quit his old job. He'll probably be traveling until then.
Wife. Boy mom x6. Expecting #7. Wannabe homesteader. , 💙💙💙💙💙💙
@nopegoat I got asked if I was doing one this time since it’s a boy and was like “no, no, definitely not!” I loathe being the center of attention. (I tried to get DH to elope so I didn’t have to be the center of attention at my own wedding 🤣) We don’t have a lot of room for stuff and honestly try to be pretty minimal so I don’t feel it’s necessary anyways. And I really doubt he’s going to care or know that he’s in the pink swaddle blanket or spitting up on the flower burp cloth. (Which is the bulk of what I have leftover from the girls and they have been using for their stuffed animals/dolls)
Tell them they can celebrate the baby by doing a meal train? I feel like that’s way more helpful than tons of pink clothing she’s going to maybe wear once.

Upcoming Appointments: the last follow up ultrasound for my exposure is 9/5! OB appt 9/8, 10/3, 10/31. Growth ultrasounds will commence shortly thereafter though. And of course weekly diabetic check ins.
How are you feeling? Tired, huge, tired, itchy, tired. lol. He’s been so very very active today and I’m being pummeled from the inside.
Rants/Raves: Almost ended up in L&D last week when his movements slowed/changed dramatically. Just as I was about to go he started kung fu fighting my organs again. Thankfully I already had my ultrasound appt the next day and come to find out he turned and is now breech. (I imagine he wanted a long nap after that effort)
Questions: Halloween costume! Any ideas? This is the first time I’ll be like at the perfect stage to do a pregnancy Halloween costume. (And yes I know it’s early!)
GTKY: Any plans for the long Labor Day weekend?
Lolz, I didn’t even realize it was Labor Day weekend. So nope! I do need to clean my desk and see if I can find DHs birth certificate, I know we have a copy but I vaguely remember pulling it out for something and apparently didn’t put it back with all the other important documents. Mom fail. 🤦♀️

Upcoming Appointments: had my glucose test today and I DO NOT have diabetes thank goodness! however my white blood cell count remains elevated so idk what all that means 🙃
How are you feeling? just exhausted and hot and a little sore.
Rants/Raves: just trying to get organized before the kiddo goes back to school. figuring out what I need to purchase, what fits and what doesn't, etc.
Questions: n/a
GTKY: it's not really a big deal here in Canada. all it means is the eldest goes back to school the following day and I'm excited that he's excited! can't wait.
Oof to you both about baby showers we got the same complaint with our elopement and non wedding. Everyone wants to celebrate us but I don’t talk with everyone 🤷🏽♀️ I feel like I might be missing out since we aren’t doing one and my family hosted my sisters 15 years ago but I don’t really talk to my extended family anymore and most of our friends are scattered across the US/world so it didn’t make sense for us to do one🤷🏽♀️ plus if they really care they’d reach out after finding out, which only far and few have and we made sure to blast that news

Upcoming Appointments: 9/5 for monthly apt the. Switching to biweekly 😵💫
How are you feeling? This week I’ve been getting bouts of low blood pressure. I naturally tend to stay on the lower end but I dropped low on Sunday. 🥴 I’ve been upping my fluid intake even more, eating smaller meals and wearing compression sleeves to mitigate it so far it seems to help but it’ just adds another level of how much I need to pay attention to things. If symptoms get worse I’m requesting an earlier apt.
Rants/Raves: when people tell you, oh we saw so and so and they’re about to give birth in the next month and they’re smaller than you and it’s like people I don’t wanna hear how another pregnant lady is smaller than me like it’ does so much help for self-esteem and why are you even comparing me. I get major whiplash because work tells me your so cute and tiny pregnant and then family and others go YOURE HUGE.
Also another small rant lightening crotch which really just feels like I got punched in the vagina every morning when I wake up. Like 😵💫😵💫😵💫.
Questions: mmmm none so far.
GTKY: Any plans for the long Labor Day weekend?
Shop! We have a few small home improvements to make like buying ceiling fans with a few other small items to get the nursery together. Oh and also getting me some more clothes that fit comfortably.
How are you feeling? More tired now than I was in the first tri
Rants/Raves: I appreciate having family and friends who really care about my well-being, but I feel like I am being treated like a fragile doll. I am fairly independent / like to do things on my own, so I don't like being told "you shouldn't be picking that up", etc. I know my limits thank you haha
Questions: No
GTKY: Any plans for the long Labor Day weekend? Husband is going out of town, so just me and the dog. We found out my brother and SIL are also expecting and are looking at the same stroller that we just got to try out, so they may come over to check it out. So exciting to have cousins so close in age (~ 2 months).
Upcoming Appointments: OB check-up next Thursday 9/4, then glucose test at the end of the month on 9/29
How are you feeling? Getting worn out a little faster than I once did, but otherwise feeling shockingly normal. Still jogging and swimming, and back to sleeping on my stomach somehow 🤷♀️ I did briefly try to cut out second breakfast after my OB mentioned in gaining weight a little earlier/faster than expected, but the morning queasiness said no thank you to that!
Rants/Raves: Y’all I cannot rave enough about PT. This is the first time I’ve had a PT take a holistic approach to my complaints—currently focused on my mid-back even tho I went in for pelvic floor—and I already feel such a difference in functional movements as I go about my days. 10/10 would recommend.
Questions:
GTKY: Any plans for the long Labor Day weekend? Going to Chicago to see friends. Life circumstances have been such that I’ve never met any child born to a friend since 2020 so there are six little ones in the Chicago area that I’m so excited to finally see in person!
@caffeinatedandtired Ugh I find the getting treated with kid gloves so infuriating! My MIL was in town recently and she kept trying to get me to sit down and giving me lectures about how I needed to focus on regenerating amniotic fluid (?) and whatnot. I just keep trying to explain that it’s really important for my mental health that I keep doing the things I normally do—when I can and within reason, of course—so that I can keep feeling like me and not just like an incubator.
@thatbaintforbetty I just recently started thinking about Halloween, but no great ideas yet. My workplace does a Halloween event for kids in the community that I’m planning to volunteer for, and rumor has it they’re planning for the theme to be fairy tales, so I’m wondering if I could go as one of the more potbellied dwarves from Snow White? Or maybe Gus Gus from Cinderella, since that’s more what I feel like some days 😂
@nopegoat Totally with you on using what you’ve got. We keep getting told we need to find out the sex so that we know what kind of stuff to buy, and I’m like, guys, this baby might be my first but they have five older boy cousins…they’re gonna be wearing “boy” clothes no matter what genitalia they come out with!
@aisleofviewtwo Ooh glad to hear a good review of PT. I need to get in to that asap. I’ve had a cough for a month and its proving how weak my pelvic floor is

Upcoming Appointments: on follow up and Gluscose test TBD
How are you feeling? Tired, sore calves, not very hungry
Rants/Raves: can’t walk as fast as I’m used to. Running out of breath sometimes. DH sad he can’t feel the baby move yet. I have an anterior placenta but can feel the baby move often though not super strong. I also have belly fat so I imagine DH won’t feel much until a couple of weeks later. Other than that and from what I’ve read and heard so far, not too bad of a pregnancy and very grateful for this little one.
Questions: don’t know what I don’t know so I don’t have any Q’s now.
GTKY: Any plans for the long Labor Day weekend?
Heading home from visiting my in laws and sharing the news of the new addition to the family. 🥹
Upcoming Appointments: sept 5 for my gestational diabetes test, and then doc appt sept 8
How are you feeling? Fine! Out of breath more days than others, but otherwise feeling good.
Rants/Raves: rant- since this is my first pregnancy and first time doing any of this, I find it difficult to feel cute in my clothes. I have cute clothes but I feel like I’m wearing the same thing day in-day out. Just have to remind myself it’s not forever. Rave - I love feeling the baby kick!
Questions:
GTKY: Any plans for the long Labor Day weekend? No plans! Perhaps continue to do nursery and house organizing things.
@at2025 I feel ya on wearing the same things all the time. I got rid of all my maternity stuff cause I thought we were done. Since I am absolutely done after this one I didn’t want to spend much on clothes, so now I have like 1 pair of maternity pants, one romper, one dress and like 3 shirts. I’m trying to mix in the more forgiving pieces of my previous wardrobe, like maxi skirts/dresses and some of my bigger/baggy shirts. But there is an awful lot of repetition going on.
Also doesn’t help that we’re practically going to need two wardrobes since we are big enough in summer that regular clothes no longer work but will also need winter clothes for the last month or two.

@thatbaintforbetty I’m with you on minimal spending for maternity, we also thought we were done before this so I bought a multipack of maternity biker shorts and crop shirts and have been living in those in different color combinations through this Southeast heat … def forgot about cooler weather that’s coming 😂. My Halloween costume plan is an ice cream cone…all I need to do is print out/cut out a waffle cone hat on cardstock so $0 commitment 🙌
@aisleofviewtwo I’m so glad you’re finding PT so helpful! Thank you for the reminder, I need to set my first appointment!

How are you feeling? Big, waking up an extra time to pee now so that’s been fun but I sleep a bit better at least.
Rants/Raves: I had my annual appt with my primary care who happens to practice in the functional medicine model. I thought I was doing great but my full lab panel was a mess - anemia, low protein, low calcium, and she’s wanting to at least investigate my chronic low blood pressure (80s-90s over 50s-60s) and she thought she heard a murmur so now I have an echo and holter monitor appt set for 35 weeks and back in the food logging and dietitian follow-up. I’m hitting calorie/macro/nutrient goals so wondering if this is just baby taking all the things 😅
Questions:
GTKY: Any plans for the long Labor Day weekend? Holiday weekends don’t exist when my husband is deployed…it’ll be a normal weekend for us and plugging away at school Monday morning, but grandparents are coming at the end of next week for a few days of relief and assistance.
