Re: Weekly Check-In w/o Aug 18

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 12-26 / 21&3

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: 3rd

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: blue!

Upcoming Appointments: 22 week f/u US 8/22, 24 week f/u US on the 5th, OB on the 9/8,(24 weeks) 10/3(28 weeks), 10/31(32 weeks). Growth scans will start somewhere after that. Plus the weekly diabetic check ins.

How are you feeling? Tired. So very tired. And itchy. And huge. And like I’m being pummeled from the inside.

Rants/Raves: We didn’t even make it a full week into the school year before someone was sick. My oldest is home today with some sort of stomach thing and I’m just hoping it doesn’t hit everyone.

But on a good note I had a phone call with my doc(they always schedule one within a day or so after the anatomy scan even though I get my scan immediately reviewed by MFM) and she’s so happy with how everything looks. She’s pretty confident that I will make it to 38/39 and have a routine (or as much as is possible) induction/delivery. Still no signs of any anemia and growth is in the 60th percentiles.

Questions: nope but a follow up to @aisleofviewtwo question of nursing bras. The minimama are okay, still not as supportive as I’d like but they stretch and have removable padding and are reasonably comfy if a bit thinner then preferred.

GTKY: If money, education, and talent/skill were no object, what job would you like to have (or at least try)? Astronaut or astrophysicist! I have been told numerous times I should have gone to med school, which I seriously considered for a while. (Wanted to do reproductive endocrinology!) Or lawyer, which I also considered. Or real estate investing.
    this is my backup acct.

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: 💕

Upcoming Appointments: Next Monday for routine check up

How are you feeling? Pretty good, girly has picked up the intensity of her kicks and punches lol, but I love it. Insomnia comes and goes, fortunately in a stretch of good sleep currently.

Rants/Raves: Finally finished painting the nursery! Had to learn how to prepare some dry wall thanks to the previous owners and quite impressed with how it turned out. On the other hand, my husband has been out of town since last Wednesday and doing his chores + my chores is exhausting.

    Questions: None right now

GTKY: If money, education, and talent/skill were no object, what job would you like to have (or at least try)? A few things - If money was no object, I’d either want to do my same job, just less of it so I have more time to focus on other hobbies and interests OR be a “professional student” and just constantly learn about new subjects in classes all day. Alternatively, I was a dancer growing up, so in my dreams I would have been some sort of performing artist.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 25 weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: third

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: 🩵

    Upcoming Appointments: 28 weeks

How are you feeling? Pregnancy-wise I feel like I’ve finally hit my stride. Figured out my iron and thyroid and I would be feeling great if it weren’t for this freaking cold/sinus infection. More on that below…

Rants/Raves: 18 days. 18! That’s how long I’ve been sick with this respiratory junk. Started as a brutal cold (could not breathe at all, which means I couldn’t sleep.. just miserable), then turned into a sinus infection. After 10 days of that bs I got on antibiotics buttttttt all that did was give me diarrhea and horrible cramps. I’m still hacking up mucus and blowing my nose constantly!!!! What the heck!

    Questions:

GTKY: If money, education, and talent/skill were no object, what job would you like to have (or at least try)?
Can I be a food critic? Or all-inclusive travel influencer? Lol
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: Dec 7/ 24w2d

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated:FTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: It’s a boy

Upcoming Appointments: in 2 weeks for our monthly  then my doc has me switching to biweekly for the rest of the pregnancy

How are you feeling? Tired, insomnia has kicked my but. I feel itchy and now get the lovely on/off again right side pain (which I plan to talk to my doc about next visit as it isn’t round ligament)

Rants/Raves:I never thought I would feel alone but here I am. Everyone is making such a fuss with me being pregnant but I’m just going through my daily motions just more tired and crankier. And my poor dog she cries for attention when I WFH but I get so stressed between her crying and trying to get my work done I break down.

    Questions: none

GTKY: If money, education, and talent/skill were no object, what job would you like to have (or at least try)? Mm is full time traveler a job? Although everyone has said I should have went into engineering (I went engineering adjacent without having to do all the. Coursework)
  • EDD / Weeks + Days:  {Nov transplant} Nov 13 / 27+5

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: 3rd

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: 🎀

Upcoming Appointments: Thursday for glucose tolerance test.  I opted to order The Fresh Test on my own … yeah there’s NO way it cost them that much to make it.  But it won’t be completely fasting that morning so I’m feeling better about having to bring my kids with me.

How are you feeling?  I melt in the heat these days.

Rants/Raves:  We started our homeschool year the first week of the month and we’re getting into a sweet little routine but the days are a lot with the dog and solo-managing our household.  The nesting in me has a growing to-do list that I’m finding only tiny pockets of time to work on.

    Questions:

GTKY: If money, education, and talent/skill were no object, what job would you like to have (or at least try)?

  • @virginiaham You’re almost in the 3rd tri!! Yay!!! Also, remind me how old your other kids are? I’m so curious about homeschool
    With a NB!
  • @brookejay06 thank you yess it’s happened so fast!  Things need to slow down before she gets here!

I’m curious too!! 🫣 We are taking off Nov/Dec from school and also hoping MH can take his paternity leave with the military then too, and then diving back in in Jan since we move again next summer and if at all possible I’d love for us to stay on track to do our summer during the move.

My other two are 5 and 7.5…I did half-day private pre-K through K for my oldest then started homeschooling last year with first grade (and some preK/JrK for my younger).  We only do 4 days/week and so far this year we are done in 2-3 hours each day, and that’s taking our time through things. The puppy is already reminding me we are going to get interrupted a lot and sometimes it’s hard to pull us back in.  It’ll be hard, especially at first.  I’ll have a baby carrier to stick baby in, we can do read-alouds while I’m nursing, and I’ll be leaning deeply into automatic routines with food/meal prep/household stuff…I’ve already done all the weekly prep for the year and written everything down because mom brain is about to get lit 😅

  • @virginiaham Wow that’s amazing you can do it all in 2-3 hours, it makes it sound do-able!! I have heard you can homeschool K in about an hour a day, so that makes sense. Smart to take some time off for the first month or two and give yourself time to adjust, heal, establish feeding etc. My daughter is 6 and starting 1st grade (public), and I think she would be velcroed to my side, talking non stop all day if she was home (I know this because it’s been our summer lol). I also have a toddler so that adds another dynamic.
When they’re done with their couple hours of school do your kids just.. play? Without you? I need to figure out how to get mine to do that lol
  • @virginiaham yay!!! Another homeschooling mom! I am homeschooling 5 right now! We do a 4 day school week and it only takes us 3-4hrs tops. We homeschool all year so we can take breaks as needed and during those breaks we just do a lot of reading and life school.

This Pic was about 2mos postpartum when we finally got back to our structured lessons again!

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: pink
Upcoming Appointments: 9/11 for the 1 hour glucose test. I *may* order the fresh test. I may just chug the glucosamine. 9/15 for MFM. Then I start every week at MFM on 9/27 for NSTs.
How are you feeling? Still so tired. Kind of itchy and anxious. And I have to basically be a rotisserie chicken when I sleep because this pain and numbness in my legs is insane.
Rants/Raves: People asking me what I'm going to do with DS when baby is born. Ummm, parent both of my living children? What am I supposed to say? Lol one of my friends is pushing for me to put him in pre-k3 but I've decided to homeschool. I was a teacher for 18 years. I think I'll be able to handle it.
    Questions:
GTKY: If money, education, and talent/skill were no object, what job would you like to have (or at least try)? I would love to have a smallish family homestead.
  • @bridgiebee82 yay another homeschooler! ❤️  And what a weird thing to ask a mom, what are you going to do with your older child after the baby is born.. ?!

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: 💚

Upcoming Appointments: 1hr glucose test on Monday

How are you feeling? besides the regular aches and pains, I'm just tired. I struggle to fall asleep at night, and then I sleep in and waste the morning, and then nap at like, 7pm, which is not helping not being able to sleep at night lol

Rants/Raves: I have 3 concerts I'm going to this week and I just feel guilty sticking my husband with the kids, but he says it's okay so I just have to let go of that guilt 😫 I went to one yesterday and he said the boys drove him crazy all night until bed time and I felt awful. but he's assured me it was no worse than if I were home, so he's trying to make me feel not guilty.

    Questions: n/a

GTKY: Probably the job I went to college for, interior decorating. a lot was going on in my life at the time I graduated and by the time things felt steady again, COVID hit, and we started our family. so now I'm a SAHM which I love.
