Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan tomorrow! Follow up phone call with doc on Friday. Ultrasounds: 8/22, 9/5; OB Appt: 9/8
How are you feeling? Huge, lol. Sweaty, itchy, sore, swollen. My boobs are still freaking constantly killing me and I’m pretty sure they are leaking the tiniest bit, even though it seems way too early.
Rants/Raves: DHs job terminated his health benefits on the 25th instead of the last day of the month, which makes no sense since you pay by the month. Because of this it looks like my last OB appt (on the 25th) wasn’t covered by insurance since coverage via my job started the 1st. So freaking mad. I mean it could be worse but still.
Questions: anybody have or has had boob leakage? My boobs are always sort of awful when pregnant, what with the vasospasms and my nipples turning purple the other day, they are literally the worst right now.
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? The sound flip flops make. Socks with sandals. Chewing with your mouth open. Walking in the middle of the road/lane/parking lot. People who drive 15 under the speed limit. Mixing black and brown articles of clothing (yes I know this accepted by most but ugh, I can’t)

@thatbaintforbetty Ugh, insurance woes are the worst. I hate the American system so much. This is not a headache you need right now! Without knowing the specifics of the policies or what an OB visit costs out-of-pocket, it might be worth looking into whether your workplace would backdate your coverage to the 25th, since loss of insurance coverage is a qualifying life event.

Upcoming Appointments: OB check-up this Wednesday 8/13
How are you feeling? Can’t complain! Life got busy and I didn’t manage to post an update last week, but the 20-week anatomy scan went smoothly and all appears to be well with the little one. So we’re just chugging along. I’m getting to the point in pregnancy where people give me a bit side-eye when I say I’m still doing the same exercise, work, housework routines I was doing pre-pregnancy, but I’m so determined to hold onto these abilities for as long as I possibly can. I just hate feeling dependent on others.
Rants/Raves: Only about two weeks left on the kitchen remodel! I’m simultaneously excited for it to be completed and also nervous bc the kitchen has been my go-to reason for not taking action on the nursery, the baby items we’ll need, etc and pretty soon I won’t have that excuse anymore and will have to actually start making decisions.
Questions: For @thatbaintforbetty (since I know you bought recently) or anyone else—where should I be looking for maternity/nursing bras? It is time 😭
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? Recently it’s been people smacking and/or loud chewing. I actually have to leave the room when my husband eats a banana, I seriously don’t know how he manages to make such a soft fruit sound so obnoxiously loud!
@aisleofviewtwo my company does insurance by the start of the month of eligibility, so I’d have to back date to July 1st and it would probably end up costing me more that way.
I have a couple different nursing bras that I've bought over the years. I think one is like Target or Walmart brand that is for sleep and it’s okay, but not my fav. I have a Motherhood Maternity one thats better but it doesn’t have a lot of support. I got rid of most of my maternity clothes a couple moves ago thinking we were done, lol. The ones I just bought are from MiniMama, they were having a sale and I figured I’d try them. I haven’t washed and worn them yet cause I just got them but I can report back. I’m a DD/DDD/E/F/whatever (I feel like every place is slightly different) when not pregnant so I went for ones that had extended sizing. I didn’t end up breastfeeding either of the girls very long so I was back in my normal bras much sooner.
If I end up needing more I might try the momcozy ones, I have seen a couple people rave about them but they seem a little more pricey so I was hesitant to try them right away. I have no idea if I will want to or be able to breastfeed this one so my investment willingness is much smaller then most probably. I haven’t had any luck in the past but I’ll probably try just for the hell of it. If it’s anything like with the girls I’ll make to 6 weeks while supplementing and he’ll get what he gets.

Upcoming Appointments: this Friday with my OB, tomorrow with an NP (to check on my meds)
How are you feeling? Every day around 4pm, my body just gives up on doing anything. I get fatigued and puke my guts out.
Rants/Raves:
Questions: anyone do a VBAC? I'm nervous about trying one.
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? Mouth noises of any sort. I have misophonia, so when people chew loudly, it drives me absolutely insane. I leave the room when some people eat. I have been this way my entire life. It causes a visceral reaction throughout my entire body. Just thinking about it is making me tense up. 😬
@aisleofviewtwo I just got a couple from Target that are the Auden brand. I went for the seamless bralette style versus an actual bra. I wore for a couple of days last week and they were fairly comfortable! The sizing was S, M, L, etc which worked fine for me with the adjustable straps and back hooks, but could see that being a problem for some maybe? I inherited a couple of Kindred Braverly that I really don’t care for. Could be the wrong size for that brand, but they felt very bulky to me while still being extremely tight.
Upcoming Appointments: I had a standard check up Monday!
How are you feeling? pretty good this week, not a ton of complaints.
Rants/Raves: tried to be off nausea meds and I was miserable the day after, so I'll be on them for the remainder of my pregnancy I think.
Questions: n/a
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? laundry. why is there always so much laundry? 😂 I hate that there's only going to be MORE of it in a few months. wish clothes would just wash themselves.
Upcoming Appointments: follow up anatomy scan on 9.04 - she wasn’t cooperating first round to get everything.
How are you feeling? Feeling good actually. Hungrier than normal, but that’s about it.
Rants/Raves: I’m moving this weekend. Just started today. Everybody keeps getting on me, don’t over do it. Don’t over do it. I am not lifting anything heavy, I’m being very careful about that. But now I’m worried that I’m overdoing it, I am tired obviously , and sweating like a pig and heavy breathing lol. But I’m sure if it’s just for a day or two; that’s ok for baby???
Questions: na
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? Lately I can’t stand it when I’m talking in the phone and they just hang up without saying goodbye when the convo is over. Is that a new thing???? lol
@Melissa112009 I've had a few higher intensity days in this pregnancy, including a day where I spent 10+ hours on my feet painting. I felt a lot of what you're describing--fatigue, sweating, heavy breathing, slightly elevated heart rate--and have bounced back every time within a few days. My biggest indicator that I'm pushing a bit harder than recommended is when the next day I'm dragging hard and/or take multiple naps. I've talked to doctors who haven't expressed any concern about the types of activities I'm taking on, and so far the pregnancy has been uneventful. I think the most important thing is to listen to your body, it will let you know if you need to scale back! (Good luck with the move!)
@rebecksah My laundry pet peeve is that I can't stand how my husband folds laundry. He insists he "doesn't know how I get the folds so sharp and neat" and I don't know what to say other than patience? focus? attention to detail? At this point I thank him for sorting, washing, and drying...and beg him to leave it for me to fold.
@thatbaintforbetty@caffeinatedandtired Thanks for the recs! I'll try to remember to keep the group posted on what ends up working out for me. I was a DD pre-pregnancy, jumped up to DDD almost immediately and now they're also getting too small, so curious to see where I end up.
@bridgiebee82 The only people I know who had a VBAC had them 30+ years ago, so probably not super helpful for your case, though my general impression is that improvements in c-section techniques have made VBAC less risky than it used to be. What does your OB think?
@aisleofviewtwo my OB is all for it, but wants me to be aware of the risks. The paperwork said a repeat c-section is riskier than a VBAC so 🤷🏻♀️
@rebecksah so. Much. Laundry. Like, how do 3 people make this much laundry? Add a tiny baby who will puke and poop and pee all over everything and now I'm dreading laundry even more lol
