Team blue/pink/green: finding out. I get genetic blood draw at 9 weeks.

    Upcoming Appointments: 8 week US

How are you feeling?: my nausea was pretty bad yesterday. I wasn’t able to eat much of my lunch. Then I had some sour candy that literally took my nausea away but a few hours later I was nearly passing out. I’m assuming from all the sugar on an empty-ish stomach.

Rants/Raves: I feel like my bloat isn’t bad. Last time I was looking 20 weeks pregnant at 8 weeks. After I eat a lot I do look a bit bloated but nothing bad. For the most part my stomach looks normal.

    Questions: none

GTKY: is everyone ready for fall? What is your thing about fall? Ok, maybe everyone isn’t thinking about fall yet but the start of fall arrived at the beginning of July where I live. I can tell the weather is changing. On cloudy days it’s getting cold. Which isn’t unusual all summer long but there is a distinct nip in the air. My favorite thing about fall are the colors on the mountains. It’s beautiful.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: March 15, 8w1

    Team blue/pink/green: Finding out

    Upcoming Appointments: Aug 21

How are you feeling?: Some days are better than others! I'm able to eat more now which is great. I think its the acid reflux thats killing me. The nasty burps all day long are 🤢 Currently trying to control some of my more anxious thoughts. In target last night and really wanted to buy a cute little outfit I saw but then the "what if it doesn't work out"s creeped in.

Rants/Raves: Our oldest two start school in two weeks and I'm not ready for our 2nd to go to Kindergarten 😭 our oldest will be in 4th grade and that just feels so huge too.

Questions: Anyone else here do birth center or home births?

GTKY: Is everyone ready for fall? What is your favorite thing about fall? Super ready for it to be a comfortable temperature outside! We live in a very humid part of the midwest/on some water so it's been awful being pregnant in the summer. I have a September birthday and around then I was starting to feel more myself with my last March baby so looking forward to feeling good! I'm thinking a 20 wk 4th time baby bump at Halloween is going to be so fun and cute too.
  • @emeraldcity603 I genuinely cannot wait for a nip in the air. Fall and spring are my favorite, I just love the middling temps. Not too hot or cold. I'll take a windy or drizzling fall or spring day over the clearest sunshine in the heat of summer every time.
  • @thescarletmom I have had 2 birthing center births. I like the fact that I don’t have to be there for long. Last time I was there a total of 5 hours and 2 of those hours was after he was born. I will say, they have been my most painful births and I think it’s because I haven’t been able to get into a good birthing position. I like to have my knees at my armpits so I can really push good and hard. I have pushed babies out in 15 minutes in that position but at the birthing center it takes me an hour or more to push them out. Last time I was screaming before he was finally born. I’m seriously considering a hospital birth this time around.

    Team blue/pink/green: Finding out

Upcoming Appointments: this Thursday, 8/7 for
    first U/S

How are you feeling?: Nausea comes and goes, but it’s not super terrible. I feel really bloated and TMI - SO gassy.

Rants/Raves: I’m looking forward to going on vacation next week with my family. I am not sure looking forward to packing.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: Is everyone ready for fall? What is your favorite thing about fall? I just love the cooler, crisp air - I live in NYC and IMO October is the best time to visit, weather-wise. I love the feeling of back to school and getting back into routine, etc.
  • @emeraldcity603 Is that the knees-pits position you prefer on your back, or do you think you could achieve it with a deep squat? At the end of the day though only you know what feels best and right so if you want a hospital birth, do it! Though I can't imagine why the birth center can't accommodate the pushing position you want, imo the whole point of birthing out of hospital is to have more options and not less. I love homebirths but they're not for everyone and at the end of the day I think mom's opinion is the only opinion!

@fifilala516 solidarity. So gassy. I hate it 😩

    EDD / Weeks + Days: March 29, 6w1d

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow is my first US!

How are you feeling?: Tired, bloated, nauseous, headache. I miss drinking my afternoon energy drink!

    Rants/Raves: None

    Questions: None

GTKY: Is everyone ready for fall? What is your favorite thing about fall? I am so ready for fall. We live in Texas so summer is miserable here, unfortunately fall doesn't really arrive until late October/early November. My favorite thing about fall is football is back! Im a big college football fan. I love making some good snacks and just vegging on the couch all day watching games!
  • @thescarletmom no, not on my back. More at a 45 degree angle so my hips open up. When I have mentioned this to my midwives I feel very judged and then end up in a different position and I’m miserable. I was in a semi squat last time and I absolutely couldn’t get him out. He wasn’t even my biggest baby either. I just want to be in the position that I have had the easiest time pushing in and it hasn’t happened twice at the birthing center. So I feel defeated.

Home births are not for me. I’m too far from the ER in case of an emergency. My husband is an ER doctor and I still won’t do it. If something happened I would never forgive myself.
  • @emeraldcity603 oh no, I totally get why you don't want to go back to the birth center if you felt judged. And if the birth center makes you feel bad then don't go there! Hopefully this birth you are listened to and respected wherever you want to be at.

Luckily we are very close to a hospital in case of an emergency and my midwife is very thorough about making us agree on an emergency transfer plan. My first was a hospital birth and extremely traumatic, so I wouldn't go back unless it was life and death. My sister is an L&D nurse and wouldn't talk to me for years after my homebirth. I know lots of people have extremely strong opinions about their birth location of choice, and I definitely believe everybody has the make the best choice for them.

EDD / Weeks + Days: 8+5, March 11. They changed my due date by a week at my dating US last week

    Team blue/pink/green: finding out

Upcoming Appointments: not until end of August, second prenatal

How are you feeling?: headaches. So many headaches. Not much of an appetite for anything other than cheesy carbs. Overall pretty good honestly, can't really complain

Rants/Raves: had my toddlers second birthday party this past Saturday, it went well, I didn't even act on my impulse to stab both MIL and BIL with plastic forks so great success. I also got to meet my sweet new little nephew who is 3 weeks old. They were kinda struggling, first time parents, and I was trying to strike a balance between being helpful but not overbearing/giving unsolicited advice. We are going down to their place this coming weekend so we will see, maybe it was just the travelling

    Questions: none

GTKY: Is everyone ready for fall? What is your favorite thing about fall? Oh gosh I'm not even thinking about fall, have so much summer left to get through. I like fall, I like the soups and a nice coffee in the deck with a crisp but not too cold morning.
  • @lizdiane456 congratulations! I'll try to channel some of your strength when my FIL is at my house this weekend for our kid's birthday 🙄 I barely have the patience for him not pregnant.
  • FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM! ❤️

    EDD / Weeks + Days: March 6, 9 weeks 3 days

Team blue/pink/green: Green (crazy I know, but now that I’m in this position it’s what I’m feeling!)

Upcoming Appointments: TBD… we toured a birthing center and are also looking into Midwives or OBGYN care at the local hospital. Waiting for a call back to get scheduled, but leaning towards the midwives center at the hospital. Anyone else have trouble booking their first appointment? I was surprised when they said they will call me back within 10 business days.

How are you feeling?: I’ve had ups and downs, easy days and rough days! This past Saturday night was the worse yet. I couldn’t keep anything down and didn’t want to eat anything. I ended up making a yogurt smoothie containing only plain Greek yogurt, milk and cinnamon which seemed to coat my stomach. Still some cramping, fatigue, a little emotional, etc. I’m excited to be closer to the end of this first trimester!

Rants/Raves: I have one more week of progesterone shots. Cannot wait to be done after 8 weeks of nightly shots!

Questions: I have two fall weddings and need some dresses! Any places ya’ll recommend for maternity dresses?

GTKY: Is everyone ready for fall? What is your favorite thing about fall? I am so excited for fall for so many reasons! I’m a new englander and fall is pure bliss here. With dealing with infertility for so many years, I’m excited to experience all the fall activities knowing we have a little one on the way. Bumping in the pumpkin patch sounds like a dream! On a pathetic note, I’ve fallen behind on my landscaping due to fatigue and am excited for things to die down haha! I need everything to stop growing lol!

  • @hilaryandbaby1 I’m a big fan of renting clothes, especially for events when I probably won’t wear the item again. I highly recommend Nuuly and they have maternity stuff!
  • I had my first US this morning and thankfully everything looked good. Baby HR was 122 and measuring 6w0d and im 6w2d so in the right range. She did note that I had a hemorrhagic corpus luteum on my right ovary. Ive never had this before and she said it wasn't dangerous for the baby or me. Google says it's probably related to the IVF and not common in a normal pregnancy, but I hate having something else to worry about! Im gonna follow up for another US in 2 weeks before hopefully graduating to the regular OB.
  • @beachmama14 congratulations 🎊 is the issue with your right ovary likely to resolve itself or will it just be there your entire pregnancy?

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 3rd time mom

    EDD / Weeks + Days: March 23/ 7+1

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue (unless it’s a mistake?!)

    Upcoming Appointments: 8/14 US

How are you feeling?: sometimes I don’t even feel pregnant which is so odd to me. I had waves of nausea which is what prompted me to take a test, but so far have been okay. Definitely don’t want to bring about nausea 😆 Also miss my Alani energy drinks like shared above.

Rants/Raves: I only told my best friend. She told her mom who then told a mutual work friend of mine. I felt really defeated today with my news being spread like that.

GTKY: I absolutely love the fall, I think it’s my favorite. I love the chill in the air, warm soups and the cozy feel in the house, pumpkin patches and Halloween! I love it all!

Edit: to add EDD/ missing my alanis lol
  • @robinj716 omg no 🥺 my whole office found out two weeks ago because I had a low blood sugar episode at work and passed out in the kitchen and my boss, the only one who knew, lost her mind and just kept yeling at the EMTs to be careful with me because I'm pregnant. Thank you...  I don't think they were planning on tossing me about Theresa. I'm so sorry, it feels very inappropriate of your friend's mom to share news that she didn't even receive first hand.
  • @robinj716 The people sharing your news wouldn’t be told anything else about the pregnancy. Especially stuff that wasn’t to be shared right away. Geeze! That’s just common decency.

    •03/06/2026 & 9 weeks+4days? Guessing as I have my prenatal appointment this Thursday 08/07.
•Team healthy baby. I am indifferent, do not know sex of baby yet, and would like to do a gender reveal with my family. I wouldn't mind either way- boy or girl.
    •First prenatal appointment is 08/07.
•Tired after I eat, heightened sense of smell, nauseous and vomiting, occasional headaches, haven't even stepped on the scale, cramping is becoming less frequent but still happens, fatigued, peckish, hormonal.
•Pregnancy pops have been pretty solid, ginger ale is my rave, and napping at the perfect time is my jam.
•Anyone have experiences or thoughts on doulas?
•I began thinking about fall today, and even Halloween costumes. Favorite things about fall are the cool weather 🍂, pumpkin patches (we take annual photos at this local patch), warm delicious drinks, fall food, gatherings, and just change in season in general, it's beautiful.
  • @blossomingmama I have also been thinking about a doula and would love to hear experiences. It’s highly likely I am going to go unmedicated this time for reasons outside my control so I would love the extra support.
  • @fifilala516 @blossomingmama cannot recommend a good doula highly enough!! I know it is a luxury and not everyone can afford a doula, but I personally wouldn't deliver without one. Especially if you have concerns about pain management, if your husband doesn't "do well" with medical stuff or isn't sure how to best support you, if you have had any trauma in the past (I personally think this goes beyond just birth or medical trauma. Doulas can be very helpful for SA survivors in labor where you feel out of control of your body), etc. Definitely interview around and make sure you have the best fit for your doula, because it's important that you feel aligned and at ease in their presence, otherwise it won't be helpful.
  • We got to see the bean and hear the heartbeat! It’s truly such a relief. I’m measuring at 8 weeks, so a couple of days behind (but I’m not even sure when I ovulated), and heart rate was 170.
  • @fifilala516 i had an u/s today too! Are you my due date twin (3/15)?! I know somebody here is. I measured a little ahead at my appt, but I don't know exactly when I ovulated either, my temp chart was all over the place. HR was 155 for our little babe and it was such a relief to see! I'm in trial for the next several weeks so my midwife appt got pushed back and I *needed* a good u/s to get me through until I see her.

I had my first US today, they calculated my EDD based off my LMP as 03/06. They measured and anticipated I'm due 03/14 so they are now sticking to 03/14 as my due date. Hearing the heartbeat was very reassuring and wholesome HR on the screen said 177 BPM. I've been scheduled for several appointments up until October, a couple of them being bloodwork. Now to plan for a viewing of the hospital since I'll be delivering at a different one this time around. 8weeks5days.

    EDD: 3-14 - 9w
Team Finding Out But Don't Care
Upcoming Appointments: 8-22 - this feels way too far away from when I saw the little one's heartbeat at six weeks
How are you feeling?: More tired, slightly less nauseous, feeling a little more confident every day that goes by and loss stats go down, so actually doing okay emotionally most of the time
    Rants/Raves:
Rave: Some days with cooler weather are giving me hope, and chocolate milk is coming in clutch with the nausea
Rant: Everything that can hurt does, and my nerve pain is acting up, probably on account of my body being a baby factory unconcerned with how those hormones affect all the parts of me that arent uterus/placenta 😑
Questions: have any of you traveled to a high altitude while pregnant? My husband and I planned a vacation in late September to Colorado Springs, and I've seen warnings about it, so I guess that ride to Pikes Peak might be out. 😞
GTKY: Is everyone ready for fall? What is your favorite thing about fall?
I am unabashedly a Halloween fiend, and everything about Fall is my favorite. The food, the weather, living in sweatshirts, the holidays, the entire way my mood improves. I'll probably start decorating for Halloween in early September (indoors), and it always feels magical. The house typically stays decorated (Halloween to General Fall to Christmas) through the rest of the year after that. I cannot wait for 90 degree weather to be done.
  • @thescarletmom I'm looking for a doula for all those reasons. I know its a privledge, but in addition to everything else, I really don't have any family on my side for support. The husband's family is great, but I'd love someone to reach out to with questions who's really just knowledgeable and dedicated to my well-being without any family baggage. I'm waiting until after the NIPT to interview anyone (cause of concerns since I'm AMA) so I hope they don't all book up.
  • @danglangcat89 I'd truthfully be surprised if doulas started fully booking out due date months before someone who would deliver that month is even in their 2nd tri! Presuming you're doing NIPT around 10 wks. I think you'll have time 🫶 especially if you're in or plan to deliver in a bigger city. I wish you luck in your interviewing that you'll find somebody who feels like the perfect fit!
  • I had such a confusing early viability scan on Thursday. My LMP was 18 June, so I thought I should be 7+1. The sonographer could only see a sac of about 5 weeks gestation. I think I ovulated about 3 weeks into my cycle, so quite late, so means I'd expect to be maybe a week out on my EDD. Not really sure what the think, as the line on pregnancy test continues to get darker and my symptoms have gone from barely there, to definitely there, albeit still pretty mild. The sonographer referred me to my local EPU, and they've offered me another scan on Tuesday and blood test to check HCG levels. All a bit uncertain now, but I guess I'll know more on Tuesday..

I would definitely get your HCG checked more than once. See if the numbers are doubling appropriately. I would also do more than one follow up scan before making any decisions about the viability of your pregnancy. Many women are told their baby isn’t viable and they wait a few weeks and everything progresses normally. They just ovulated later. Hopefully this is the case for you!
  • Thank you. Yeah I will ask for repeated hcg, and I have 2 scans booked, one tomorrow and one in a few weeks. Clearblue test still saying pregnant 3+, although I know that doesn't necessarily mean viable because hormones can linger for a long time even if things aren't successful.
  • @knottiee82036091737b73b I would wait and see also the further along you get they can always change that due date or confirm it better the farther along you are. Mine changed mine from my LMP due date to a week and 2 days after based on the size of my first prenatal scan. I'm thinking maybe further along it may change also based on many factors.

I had another scan at what I thought should be 7+6 and they just saw a bunch of cyst looking things, about 6-8 of them. They said it was strang and they thought they were gestational sacs initially, and then said perhaps cysts, perhaps molar pregnancy. On looking at ultrasound images of complete molar pregnancy scans, it looks just like them, so I think sadly i'm back to square one, after i've had treatment for the molar pregnancy :( my hcg is at 12,000, which is confusing as that would be more or less in keeping with where I thought I was, but I think my body is just confused and I suspect hcg will fall between now and my next blood test.

I’m so sorry. Once they have treated you for the molar pregnancy do you have to wait before trying again? Or can you try right away? What’s the likelihood of it happening again? Is it super rare and a once in a lifetime kind of thing? I’m so sorry you’re going through this.
  • Ooh, fall is such a cozy time of year! I’m absolutely here for sweater weather, pumpkin goodies, and all the cute little family traditions. How about you—do you have any fall favorites or plans you’re excited about this year? 😊

I am so sorry this is happening also. I know little of these types of pregnancies, so this is very new to me. I just want to say we're here to support you and again I'm sorry you're having to go through this again.
