2nd Trimester

2nd trimester nausea

I didn't have any issues besides fatigue in my first trimester however now (23weeks) several days im very sick its 4 am and its just happened again its brutal. I thought it may be related to the baby wanting me to eat but im having a hard time even trying to finish the small amount of cereal I put in a coffee cup and starting to feel ill again.

Anyone else having this morning sicknessish in the 2nd trimester??

With my first, I had nausea and vomiting from week 6 til birth. So far, this second pregnancy appears to be about the same 🤷🏻‍♀️ I hope you feel better!

  • I haven’t had a lot of morning sickness on my first trimester but it definitely didn’t go away overnight as soon as hit the second tri. Its less consistent, but still shows up now and then. Other stomach issues are increasing though - heartburn is one of them. It might be worth scheduling a telehealth consult if you have that available just to discuss possibilities and ways to ease the uncomfortable sensation with a doctor.
  • It’s definitely not uncommon for nausea to return or even start in the second trimester, especially around 20–24 weeks. It could be hormone shifts, baby pressing on your digestive organs, or even low blood sugar if you’re waking up on an empty stomach.
Try keeping something bland like crackers or dry toast on your nightstand to nibble before even getting out of bed. Small, frequent meals throughout the day might help too, even if it’s just bites at a time. Also, sipping onto ginger or peppermint no to morning sickness tea can really calm the stomach — it is a gentle, natural option that’s worked for a lot of moms I know. Sending hugs your way .
