  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 12-26 / 17&3

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: 3rd

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: blue!

Upcoming Appointments: 7/25, 7/29 and a whole bunch more ultrasounds after that

How are you feeling? So so very anxious. Just have to keep reminding myself that currently he’s doing great and I’m under terrific care.

Rants/Raves: Writing this from vacation! Which has been a mixed bag for me, it’s so hard when I don’t have the same lung capacity and I can’t get comfortable to sleep without my pillows. And I’ve had to do insulin shots in the car, numerous restaurants and the hotel. Impatient children are not so accommodating when you need to eat every 2-3 hours.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your go-to comfort food? Homemade Mac n cheese probably

  • @aisleofviewtwo the girls won’t touch my homemade mac n cheese, they only want the blue box. lol.

One of the constant issues ive had with my MIL is that she can’t think further ahead than the next 30 seconds. DH, thankfully, has a fondness for thinking ahead and it drives him just as crazy as it drives me. We’ve had numerous times that she has called saying she was around and wants to come by…but we aren’t even there. She always wants to join in things we are planning but is incapable of being anywhere on time, like several hours late regardless of when/what/how/where.

@aisleofviewtwo what a great idea that you’re starting pelvic floor PT before postpartum 🙌 Was that something your provider recommended? Reminding me that I probably need to ask for a referral at my appointment tomorrow and get going on that too. It was incredibly helpful for me after I had a prolapse (of everything 🙃) with my last birth.

     EDD / Weeks + Days: {Nov transplant} 11/13, 23+5

     FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: 3rd

     Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: 🩷

Upcoming Appointments: 24w appt tomorrow, the 1-hr fasting glucose tolerance test isn’t until 28w thank goodness because I’ll have my kids in tow tomorrow morning, and it’ll be puppy’s first time home alone since we got him.

How are you feeling? Starting to see the light through the puppy fog 😅

Rants/Raves: The puppy homecoming on Saturday turned our world upside down but it’s righting itself. He’s 9 weeks old 🥰 and verrrry much so but already responding super well to our not-training-yet training. The crying has gone way down and my frazzled brain is starting to function again.

     Questions:

GTKY: What is your go-to comfort food? Yes to either of the mac&cheese options, and wavy chips! Mine is either Ritz crackers and a Coke or pad Thai.

  • @aisleofviewtwo Ugh! It’s so frustrating when they assume you’ll be around and available. Even if it’s just for a weekend. Asking to visit (not telling) is preferable.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 21 weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: third

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: 🩵!!!!

Upcoming Appointments: just had anatomy last week and found out it’s a boy!!!

How are you feeling? Good actually!! Magnesium for headaches and beef liver supplements for energy and it’s helping

Rants/Raves: I am excited to have another son. We have 1 daughter and 1 son already. But I’m also kind of sad. Somehow I pictured this baby as a girl, and I’m just sad that I’ll never have another daughter. I was getting attached to a name we won’t get to use. (This will be our last baby). On the bright side, this will make it somewhat easier for sharing rooms and hand me down clothes since the boys will be back to back (3 years in between but still)

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your go-to comfort food? For snacks- Chips. Pretzels. Sour patch kids. Hot tamales (teenager stuff lol)
For meals- maybe spaghetti or curry?
  • @virginiaham fountain coke! Liquid calories is one of the biggest things I had to give up when I became diabetic and I miss fountain coke more than I can say! I never could get on board with the diet/zero versions, since I really can’t stand the artificial sweetener taste.

And DH is a Pepsi person so it’s not even like I can steal a sip from his every once in a while.

  • @thatbaintforbetty fountain is the best, and 100% diet just doesn’t hit the same 😫  I gave it up too with my strong family history of diabetes (also Ritz after going gluten-free for my thyroid 😔).  MH orders Diet Coke if we go out to eat and I’ll get like 2 sips of his and be satisfied/done with the artificial sweetener—I can’t get into it either.

How are you feeling? Still just tired, really super emotional. I spent most of the day yesterday crying on and off, and then I was like, enraged at bedtime. I'm starting therapy next week, so that's good! I definitely have some residual PPD/PPA and PTSD from my first pregnancy, losses, and c-section.
Rants/Raves: I wish my husband would just look around and see what needs to be done around the house. I've made a list, it's in the kitchen. I'm the only one who looks at it and does anything on it. Even if I talk to him about it, he feels like it's a personal attack. I shouldn't have to do everything for the household all the time. I work part time, about 30 hours a week. He takes care of the outside stuff, and that's great and all, but loading the dishwasher or throwing in a load of wash once in awhile would really take some of the stress off of me. I do EVERYTHING else. And I have to take care of our 3 year old son all day, every day. When he gets home from work he "needs to decompress" and I get zero personal time. I was originally a SAHM when our son was born, but now I have to work as life is entirely too expensive. Daycare is not an option at all for us as it'd take up my entire pay for the week and we need that for bills. Hooray for life in NJ! 🙃
Questions: I thought I had my 20 week scan scheduled for like a week early last week, but it ended up just being doppler. I'm confused. When does the anatomy scan typically happen? I had so many appointments with my last pregnancy, I don't remember when things happen. Also, thoughts on VBAC? I'm nervous because I'm an old lady (I'll be 43 when baby is born).
GTKY: What is your go-to comfort food? Homemade baked macaroni and cheese with stewed tomatoes on top. Or mint chocolate chip ice cream. It absolutely MUST be green.

@aisleofviewtwo I don't mind if someone says that they'll be in town and would like to see me and my family, I just let them know there's a possibility I may not be available.
  • @bridgiebee82 30 hours is not part time that like full time😵‍💫 and balancing being a mom you have the right to be frustrated and annoyed.  I think most anatomy scans  are between 20-22 weeks

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 12/7 20w3d

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: FTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green:💙

Upcoming Appointments: 7/30 for anatomy scan then a general monthly follow up on 8/6

How are you feeling? Tired. Always tired. And now I’m waking up more in the middle of the night.

Rants/Raves: figuring out when and how people visit post birth. Planned to have my parents stay with us but hubby doesn’t want to feel like he’s hosting which is TOTALLY fair. It’s just a tough balance when everyone is not local

    Questions: mm none right now

GTKY: What is your go-to comfort food? Oo this is hard it’s changed since being pregnant. I can go for a cup of noodles, baked potato soup and hot Cheetos they’re so bad but so good. Oh and an ice cold Dr. pepper

  • @bridgiebee82 I agree that 30 hours is NOT part time. When do you do that? I have a 3 year old and 6 year old, and it’s summer so they’re both home 24/7, and I work about 15 hours a week between a few different jobs…. And I’m hanging by a thread. So I feel you. I’ve had a lot of resentment build toward my husband. In fact we spent all last weekend fighting.
That being said- I wonder if instead of a running list of ways he can “help” you, see if he will just take full ownership of something. Like laundry. Load, switch, fold, hang, all of it. If it’s HIS job he can choose when to do it and how it gets done (meaning you have to release control of that) but it needs to get done. It’s infuriating when the grass is viewed as a higher priority than clothing or dishes or meals lol.
  • @bridgiebee82 I don’t have a 20 week with my OB (as far as I know anyways, I have my 18 week on Friday though who who knows what might happen), the anatomy scan was put in as a referral by the OB I think and then MFM/imaging/ultrasound/whomever does that called me to schedule. The facility my doc is at doesn’t even do them, I have to go to woman’s health at the main hospital for it. I would call your doc and ask them if you need to contact them directly or if they were supposed to call you and if they were, tell your doc they haven’t.

Also agree that 30 weeks is NOT part time. DH and I have had many disagreements where I proclaimed that “no I need more help and it’s on you to provide it, whether that be in list form or by owning a chore that is your decision but you need to choose.” Early on DH told me that as his wife it was my right to “nag him,” I told him I was not his mother and he was no longer a child, he needed to take accountability and responsibility for things.

I also understand the crappy position of carrying most or all of the mental and physical load, my DH has worked nights for the last couple of years so sadly our division of labor is not fair based on the fact that he sleeps during a chunk of the day and is legitimately down for the count part of when he is needed. He does what he can and hates he can’t do more though. I work full time 40+(usually 45) hours and have the girls at home with me all the time when not in school. But thats our life and we are making the best of it currently but that doesn’t mean he gets to be any less of a parent or husband.
    this is my backup acct.

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 21 weeks today!

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: 3rd

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Green!! Though leaning towards this being my girl.

Upcoming Appointments: Nothing for a while!

How are you feeling? I'm good on the days I have a massage to help relieve my pain and that. My nausea doesn't seem to be letting up because I'm feeling it a little more through the day (I could take an extra nausea pill during the day, but it's not that bad yet). Feeling nervous because I have my cousin's wedding this weekend and my oldest son is in the wedding party as the ring bearer. Just gonna be a long, long day.

Rants/Raves: I've never been this nauseous in a pregnancy before so that's my rant. I also hate being pregnant during the summer. It's literally... the worst LOL. Finding clothes to wear out of the house in this heat while trying to look put together but not wearing too much to overheat is unbearable. And trying to shave legs??? Forget about it :joy:

Questions: Did any of you experience nausea all the way through your pregnancies? Was it mild? Really bad? I had food aversions only with my first, and I had nausea up to 12 weeks with my 2nd. This is brand new territory for me lol.

GTKY: What is your go-to comfort food? My husband makes these 2 meals that I am obsessed with: Japanese Curry, and the other is called Angry Chicken. It's a recipe from Chef Morimoto, and I could really eat it daily it's THAT good.
  • @bridgiebee82 anatomy scans where I am anyway happen between 19-22 weeks I think, so any time now! Could you call your HCP and confirm?

I debated a VBAC with my second, but the risks spooked me more with a VBAC than with a 2nd c-section. I knew that having a repeat c-section meant I would have to have c-sections with all following babies, but honestly, both my c-sections (1st was unplanned and 2nd was scheduled) were so smooth for me, so I have no concerns about repeat c-sections. I also knew it meant they don't recommend more than 4 c-sections, so I knew it would limit how many children I had, but my husband and I knew we didn't want more than 4 anyway, so it was fine for us.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 18 weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: 6TM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: green

Upcoming Appointments: 2 weeks for anatomy scan

How are you feeling? Pretty good. Getting less sick randomly

    Rants/Raves:

I feel like I have so much I want to do before this baby arrives and no time to do it. My older kids keep me busy along with work. December will be here before we know it!

I also have yet to announce this pregnancy. It has been fun keeping quiet but it is getting harder to suck it in and I’m going to have to tell my boss soon. She works remote so she doesn’t see me in office. I have my mid year review Monday so I was going to at least wait until after that and hopefully until after my anatomy scan just so I know everything is ok. My boss is very supportive but I just feel like the judgement from everyone will be there with this being my 6th so I feel like I just need to hide….This pregnancy has been fine, but I hate really announcing until after the 20 weeks.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What is your go-to comfort food? Meatloaf and mashed potatoes or chicken noodle soup. Of course there is always ice cream as well!

  • @virginiaham Honestly I’ve never had a great pelvic floor but it was only intermittent issues so I didn’t seek treatment. Then at about 15 weeks I about lost my mind due to a flare-up and an embarrassing perfect storm: I managed to sneeze and pee on literally every pair of shorts I have that still fits, during a heat wave, while I was dog sitting for someone else so not at home to do laundry. So at my 16-week check-up I pushed for a referral, and even my OB had to admit that it was only gonna get worse from here so might as well get started!

Yay for puppy's homecoming! You're brave to add a puppy to the pregnancy mix, but also they really are so sweet and cuddly and just the best <3
