The only issue that has come is with our cat. We have an indoor cat, who is extremely clean, well mannered, very friendly cat who gets constant attention. Over the past couple of weeks she has started to pee in odd places; on our bed twice (now locked out of our room), on our couches multiple times and on my boyfriends lap twice as well as mine. This is very unusual behaviour for her-of course we are going to take her to the vet this weekend to rule out a medical issue however it has become extremely frustrating. I have done a lot of reading about cats and pregnancy and discovered some cats act protective and overly friendly while others start to react similar to my cat by marking their territory as they smell something new. We have tried endless things to help her; we have tried the Feliway diffusers, the spray, nothing in the cats life has changed and she still gets the same amount of attention yet she doesn’t come around as much as before. She used to be in my face constantly and now keeps to herself. The only thing that changed was we added a new litter box - but then out her old one back out in the same spot thinking this could have caused it (however she continues to use both-while still peeing in the wrong places).
Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone had similar experiences? It’s becoming defeating and very frustrating. The cat originally was my boyfriends and I know how much she means to him. Any suggestions at all would help or any ideas of cleaners that actually work? Cat pee I’d also disgusting and I really don’t want our furniture ruined. We have tried the bissel pet oxi cleaner which is ok but doesn’t seam to work great. I have also tried to provide the cat with more attention from myself but it doesn’t seem to help. Moms: I am just so defeated. I also don’t know a lot about cats because growing up I have only ever had dogs.
