Babysitter Responsibility

It’s our first time hiring babysitter for our 14 month old. My daughter seemed to be good with her as they were hanging out together and she did not really cry or ask for me. However, two things happened at Day 1 today. 1) I found my daughter coming upstairs on her own and was knocking on the safety door (I was upstairs) and the babysitter was not with her at all! She said because she heard my voice making phone calls so she thought I went downstairs (our stairs is around the corner so you cannot see it if you’re in the living room). I was so scared when I saw my daughter standing there alone. We don’t have camera in the living room so I did not know what she was doing. 2) I checked the video camera at basement (where they spent time most today). It seems the baby is not 100% in her sight sometimes she would check the stuff my our shelf for a sec and my daughter is in another area (our basement is L shaped). Also according to her, my daughter is an independent player and behaves really well. But I was expecting a more engaging babysitting instead of her lying on the cushion and watching my daughter play on her own. Not sure if I’m worrying too much or I should change a babysitter - again this is our first time and it’s Day 1.
