Clothing

First time mom and I’m kind of shocked at how none of my clothes fit already.  Anyone else?

Luckily I had some clothes from before I lost weight stored away but even those are close to not fitting.  My bra is up a whole cup size already.  And my pants are up 2 sizes already.

Anyone else?

  • Yes, I haven’t been able to comfortably wear jeans since week 6!

Totally get where you’re coming from — I felt the same way with my first! It’s wild how fast your body starts changing, even early on. I was surprised at how tight everything got so quickly, especially bras and pants. It’s great that you had some clothes stashed away — that saved me too for a bit! Maternity leggings and stretchy bras became my best friends pretty fast. If you’re still on the hunt for comfy and affordable options, I’ve had a good experience with yours clothing uk. They have a decent maternity range and plus-size basics that are super comfy and actually cute — and they don’t break the bank, which is a huge plus when you’re only wearing some of these pieces for a few months.
  • Yuuup, bought a bigger bra and Abercrombie maternity jeans this weekend 😅 the mat jeans are definitely too big for me right now but they are way more comfortable than my usual jeans! I guess the alternative would be to buy regular low rise jeans a couple sizes bigger until the mat jeans actually fit? Not that I’m a fan of low rise jeans in any other circumstance lol
  • Any Canadians have recommendations for maternity bras/clothing in general?
  • Old navy or the gap have decent stuff for decent price. Costco maternity leggings are see through. Knix maternity bras.
  • Shein was amazing for me!

    Second time, Mom here.
For Canadian shopping I got a lot of my stuff online from Old Navy. They were great because you can do Online returns in stores.
Their pregnancy panties were a game changer for me.
h&m also has some great pieces! I got a couple nicer work shirts from there.

For bras though I ended up going to just a regular bra store and got re-fitted for a new bra. Really all you need is a regular bra in  a bigger size to wear during pregnancy. And then for nursing bras I went to a Local baby shop and bought some there right before baby was born.

  • My jeans still fit fine but my work pants are going to be a no-go soon. I need to find some quick since I still haven’t said anything to my coworkers. I work in banking, so slacks are pretty much a requirement. Might need to go shopping after work tomorrow if I’m not too tired.
  • I'm 14 weeks, in Canada and I just did an Old Navy run, they have some really nice stuff this year!

Yes! I felt like nothing fit almost overnight. Ended up living in leggings and oversized tees pretty early on.
  • If you’re prime day shopping, I recommend bearsland and smallshow for comfy maternity tees and dresses! Same brands if you’re stocking up on nursing tops and dresses. I have seen the brand Ekouaer on a lot of the really good deals but I found the fabric to be not great a few years ago.
  • I had to size up fast too, and it felt weird at first, but your body’s doing a lot. It’s okay to just wear what feels good.
