Hospital bag: snacks! (for me and DH), Gatorade/body armor drinks, bath robe, nursing tanks, maternity leggings, cardigan, slippers. Toiletries (that first shower is aaaaahhhh). Phone charger. Coming home outfit for baby (NB and 0-3m even though my babies swim in NB I like to be prepared). Empty bag for AAAAALLLLL the hospital PP/baby stuff (take it all, you've already paid for it once it enters your room and they can't reuse it)
I personally don't bring my own pillow, breast feeding pillow or anything that can't be easily washed because hospitals are gross lol
PP supplies: I split in baskets between my master and downstairs bathrooms - for vaginal birth: pads, tucks pads (lay them on your pad like salami), dermoplast spray, peri squirt bottle, advil/Tylenol to alternate, stool softener. I grab the mesh undies and undie ice packs from the hospital too but don't get any extra of my own. - breastfeeding: earth mama nipple butter (really only used this with my first), haakaa or a similar let down collector, good one-handed water bottle, snacks everywhere you may feed baby, reusable breast pads and comfy nursing bra. Have an idea of how to use your breast pump just in case you need to, how to hand express and contact info for an IBCLC
I used our regular pillows and not a specific breastfeeding pillow. My kids both took whatever bottle/ pacifier so no particular recommendation there. I'm sure I'll be back with stuff I forgot
Popping in late but if you're still putting things together, I didn’t bother packing pads or diapers this time. The hospital gives you plenty. I used that space for snacks and chargers instead.
