FTM vent + need advice baby’s movement at night is driving me crazy

I’m a FTM to a June baby boy and he’s super wiggly — even in his sleep! I’m naturally a super light sleeper, and every tiny grunt, kick or movement wakes me up. I feel like I haven’t slept in days

My husband works full time and he gets really cranky when I toss and turn or wake him up too, and we actually had a huge fight about it last night. I’m super sensitive and now I just feel terrible and exhausted. I don’t want to affect his work, but I also don’t know how to cope with this stage.

Has anyone else dealt with this? How did you manage? Any tricks for light sleepers or ways to settle a restless newborn at night? I’d love to hear what worked for y’all.

Feeling so alone right now

  • Hey! I am a super light sleeper and have such a hard time with all the baby noises. They are so noisy! We have a sound machine and some of that is to drown out the background noise and some of it helps drown out baby sleep noises so I’m not constantly getting woken or kept up. I also think I eventually learned how to tune some of it out, too (being so exhausted also helps 🫠). I know it’s not much in terms of solutions, but I can say you are definitely not alone.

Omg thank you so much for this — it seriously helps just hearing that I’m not the only one 🥹💙 Baby noises are SO LOUD for being so tiny!!

We have a sound machine too but maybe I need to turn it up a bit at night. And yes… I’m hoping exhaustion will eventually help me tune it out too 🫠 Appreciate you taking the time to share this — makes me feel a little less crazy ❤️
