Solly Baby Wrap V. Happy Baby Wrap

Hello all! I am debating between the HappyBaby wrap and the SollyBaby wrap for a newborn in July and August in a hot climate (no AC, so no heat reprieve while in the house). I already have the ergo with infant insert which I will use in September. I have heard that both are great, breathable, and lightweight BUT I have also heard that SollyBaby has fabric that is too thick for summer. Can anyone comment based on personal experience or experience of someone close to them?

What fabric are they made out of? I didn't use it with my newborn, but I loved the linen ring sling that I had and it was decent when dealing with the humid Virginia summer. Any natural fiber would be best for breathability. You may also look into your local Baby Wearing International chapter. They usually have lending libraries, so you could try out different ones before you decide to buy one.

  • Absolutely get the Solly. I have one and it’s WONDERFUL. Very lightweight and easily adjustable, soft. I’ve used almost every kind of wrap, and the Solly beats them all.
