How did you find your maternity photographer?

I'm thinking about doing a maternity photoshoot and, besides Google or Reddit, am a bit lost on how to find a photographer. If you're planning one or have had yours done, how did you find your photographer?

Surprised there's not a similar list of vendors on The Bump like there was on the The Knot for wedding planning - unless I just haven't found it??

Thanks in advance!

Re: How did you find your maternity photographer?

  • I’m not doing a shoot, but I would probably turn to my local moms Facebook group. They’re always full of resources. So maybe see if there’s one to join in your area!

  • Hello, I found mine for 30 min free session through shoot/ a Facebook Shoott commercial.

I had the same issue and found that while Google has lots of results, many websites make big promises but end up charging way more than expected once you book. 😣
To avoid that, I’d recommend always checking reviews—not just on Google, but also on other platforms where the business is listed (like Yelp or Facebook). And if possible, talk directly to a few past clients or ask the photographer for recent galleries so you can get a sense of their style and if it’s worth the price.

If you're looking for specific professionals, a few that consistently come up with good reviews include:
    1. Sacramento Maternity Photography
    2. Edge Underwater Photography
    3. Roseville Maternity Photographer

The Bump doesn’t have a vendor list like The Knot! That would make things so much easier.
Hope this helps and wishing you an amazing photoshoot experience! ✨📸
