Hospital Bag

What is everyone packing in their hospital bag?

STMs what did you pack to wear? Trying to have my bag packed and keep going back and forth on what I will feel comfortable in.

Re: Hospital Bag

  • I brought nursing tops and shorts for after delivery, but didn’t end up wearing them! I mainly wore a comfy hospital gown that I got from Kindred Bravely. Just ended up being easiest with my vitals and the c-section incision being checked often (and I had a catheter in for a couple days after the c-section). I also had a robe and fuzzy slippers that I wore! I brought my own pillow from home along with my favorite throw blanket, which made sleeping (the little I got 🤪) more comfortable!

  • I wore one of the hospital gowns for delivery and for that first night in the hospital. I also had a Kindred Bravely gown and it was so comfy and easy. Didn't have to worry about pants or what top would work well. This baby I'll probably pack my gown and a going home outfit, but outside of that I didn't really use any of the clothes I packed. Each person and birth is different! I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you choose to bring!

A few other things that I packed with our first that I will with our second: clip on/travel fan and ling charger. Honestly those are two that I for sure needed. I was induced and stayed a total of 3 nights at the hospital. If you are being induced, try to bring things to occupy you. My husband brought dvds (shocking the hospital had the players) and it was a nice distraction when I could but also didn't require my full attention like a book.

I didn't bring my own blanket too and it helped feel more at home/comfy. I did end up packing almost two bags, one for delivery and post partum. Then my husband had his bag with his and the baby stuff.

This time I'm definitely packing one of our Halo Swaddles as they're so easy! My husband is such a good blanket swaddler, but the halos are so simple.

Two things that I didn't pack that may have been helpful are my breast pump and bobby/feeding pillow. I'll most likely bring these to the hospital with us but just keep in my car and have my husband bring up if we feel necessary.
  • I lived in an oversized tee and high-waisted joggers. Brought a robe but it stayed in the bag. Definitely bring a going-home outfit that feels like pajamas.
