    TW loss mentioned

My due date was supposed to be today, so the past couple of days have been hard for me. I was really hoping we’d already have more embryos and at least have a transfer scheduled by this point

R/R: The public pools in my city are finally opening next weekend, but it looks like they are only going to be open until the beginning of August. It seems like a waste of money to fill up all the pools for only a month and a half. Idk what they are thinking

  • @britters314 that’s a ridiculously short season for a pool to be open. Why do they even have outdoor pools if they can’t be open for longer than a month and a half?

I’m sorry you’re coming up on your due date. That’s always so hard. Especially when you’re hoping to have another pregnancy in process by this time. I hope you can do something to take your mind off of everything.

How are things going? Any questions?: This cycle has been weird. I may have jumped the gun on starting my progesterone. I thought I had a fallback rise. Then realized it didn’t meet the rules but had already started the progesterone. My temps dropped from 7-9DPO and then shot back up today pretty significantly. I took an OPK and 2 pregnancy tests this morning. The OPK is very close to being positive. The pregnancy tests are stark white. So, did I fail to ovulate and gave myself a fake shift because I started my progesterone too early? Or is the OPK picking up early HCG? I’m in delulu land.

R/R: me and my friends did a midnight hike up a mountain the other night. We were on the peak at midnight which was the start of my birthday so that was pretty cool. The sun was “setting” as we were sitting there. It doesn’t get darker than dusk right now. So still very bright.
  • @emeraldcity603 Yeah it’s weird. They only have the pools open during the public school summer break, which is shorter this year, but they are still opening a week after summer break starts and closing a few weeks before it ends so I don’t get why. Beaches at least are open Memorial Day to Labor Day though. As for your progesterone question, are you able to share your chart? It sounds like you could have caused an issue by starting the progesterone too early, but I’m not an expert. I think it would be weird, though, for an OPK to be picking up HCG but not a pregnancy test
  • @britters314 I originally had CD19 marked as 1DPO as a fallback rise but because I had a wet sensation on CD19 and 20 it doesn’t meet the rules for a fallback rise. As soon as I saw the higher temp on CD21 I decided to go ahead and start the progesterone. Then I have a trend down and then today it shot up quite a bit and I had the dark OPK. Premom measured it at .74, which I know is arbitrary but just a reference of how dark it was. I have had some cramping the last few days. I actually expected my period to push through even though I’m on progesterone. Once my natural progesterone drops low enough I start spotting even while taking the progesterone suppositories. Me and DH BD today just in case this is ovulation. I l’m not sure what the progesterone will do if I’m actually trying to ovulate right now. Possibly fail and I’ll gear up for it again once I stop taking it?
    Chart is in spoiler.

  • Yeah it definitely looks like you ovulated on either CD 18 or 20. Idk why you would be getting a positive OPK now though if that was the case. It’s possible the high temp on CD 21 was a fluke and it would have come back down if you hadn’t started the progesterone. Have you asked your doctor about it?
  • No, I’m going to test one more time in the morning and stop the progesterone. If my typical pattern continues I should start spotting tomorrow even with the progesterone. The fact that I’m not already spotting tells me my originally marked shift for CD19 was wrong. Next cycle I’m going to be patient and make sure my shift meets the rules.
  • Also, I took another OPK yesterday evening and it was slightly lighter and then it was much lighter today. I think it may have been a fluke surge.
  • My period forced itself today even with the progesterone at the time I would expect my period so I feel it’s safe to say, I ovulated and the start of my shift was CD20. Onto the next cycle. I think I'm going to stop using OPKs. I’m just going to BD straight through until after I have confirmed ovulation. This is the third cycle we have messed up timing because we stop too early.
  • WAYDTGKU (BD/TI/IVF/FET/Benched/etc.): BD but I may TTA for the time being - see below

    WTO/TWW: WTO

Timing/Testing/CS: I got the rest of my bloodwork back along with the TSH and free T4 - prolactin, AMH, LH, and FSH - all normal, so that's a relief. I still think my progesterone is the key factor here but we haven't gone about testing it yet.

How are things going? Any questions?: So I spoke before about them finding a cyst in my mammogram/sonogram that requires follow-up. I did get a second opinion with a highly regarded breast surgeon who assured me this was nothing at all to be concerned about - she said get the followup sono in 6 months (which is already scheduled), and if it hasn't changed then come back for routine mammos at 40.

And now I am also dealing with my second abnormal pap smear in a row, and my doctor wants me to go for a colposcopy. I'm pretty sure everything is fine (it's been HPV negative) but I kind of want to put a pin in TTC until I know everything is clear in the area, if that makes sense. I'm scheduled for the procedure at the end of July.

R/R: Bodies are weird and awesome but like, give a b**ch a break.
  • @fifilala516 how do you feel about waiting 6 months? Why don’t they want to biopsy it? If they biopsy it then there isn’t any guess work. I would also pause TTC until everything was squared away. I’m sure this has been super stressful. I’m sorry.
  • @fifilala516 As hard as it is to ever have to press pause on TTC, it definitely makes sense while waiting for those results. I’d do the same in your position. Hopefully everything is clear and you can get back to it soon!
  • @emeraldcity603 I’m ok waiting because my mom has been seeing this doctor for over two decades and we trust her implicitly. She said she didn’t even think I had to go back that soon for a follow up sonogram, but since it was already scheduled, it was fine to do it.

@britters314 Sorry you're going through it. *Hugs*

@fifala516 Glad your other numbers were good, hope everything goes well with your pap.

How are things going? Any questions?: Couldn't get the timing right bc of travel this cycle. I think I'm ok with it bc we had a great intro call with the fertility clinic right before we left. They reassured me on my 0.9 AMH and we have a plan for next steps in testing. I'm really really really not looking forward to the HSG. It was horribly painful for me last time. It's required and I know it'll be worth it in the end.
