Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out (hopefully this week!!!!!!!!)
Upcoming Appointments: 16 week in July and level 2 ultrasound (that needs to be rescheduled because they did it without confirming the date/time/location with me🙄)
How are you feeling? Okay ish. lol. Still spotting but it’s brown and hasn’t increased, they still had me start the baby aspirin so it’s clearly not overly concerning. Still tired AF. My back is killing me now in addition to my boobs, I think I need to replace my office chair. It’s 5+ years old and falling apart. Pregnancy dreams have started sporadically.
Rants/Raves: Some of DHs family from Alaska was passing through town yesterday so we got to go to lunch with them, I hadn’t met them and he hadn’t seen them since he was much much younger, so that was super awesome.
Anxiously awaiting NIPT results. Still need to decide if we want to do something special for the girls to announce the sex.
Questions: not at the moment.
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to this summer? Well I was looking forward to more sleep but pregnancy has kinda ruined that. (Every time they up my bedtime insulin dosage I have to do middle of the night blood sugar checks for the proceeding 2 nights) I really want to get some time at the pool but that also hasn’t happened yet.
DD 1 asked for us to go to the beach for her mid July bday so definitely that, especially since it’ll be at least 20 degrees cooler in SF than here. Also fresh seafood! Might do the planetarium or spend some time at the pier. 🥳
My dads 60th bday is tomorrow and my mom is having a party for him this weekend which I love since he deserves the recognition/celebration.

Upcoming Appointments: 6/18 for a follow-up ultrasound and checkup.
How are you feeling? Still exhausted, still getting bouts of nausea and puking. This weather going from 90° to 60°and raining is not helping.
Rants/Raves: I went to MFM and the experience was absolutely lovely. The doctor even said I could do VBAC if I wanted/was able to since it's been long enough since my c-section.
Questions: How are y'all keeping up with housework and working? Bonus points if you have tips on taking care of a toddler at the same time.
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to this summer? Beach and lake days! I live about an hour from the beach, so it'll be nice to just make a few day trips. We might go to the Cape May Zoo one day too. 💓
How are you feeling? Like absolute garbage. All day sickness and horrific taste after I eat or drink anything has seemed to really ramp up lately. Also still so tired.
Rants- My MIL outed us on FB last night in a post for my husband for Father's Day. It was in the comments a few times and we think we removed ourselves from the tag fast enough that most people didn't see, but uugh! Raves: I've been stressing but so not really about Dr/midwife situation. My last two babies were the most perfect homebirths. My husband changed jobs and we ended up on his insurance which doesn't cover homebirths. I wasn't sure if we were in a position to fork out a ton of extra money because we are trying to move, need a new vehicle, etc but also really wanted another homebirth if possible. We crunched the numbers and decided we can do it!! Super stoked and have an appt with my old midwife this Friday!
Questions: We have some that are around 16wks. Its about time to start HDBD. You ladies ready to start it this week?
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to this summer? Just relaxing a little bit more. We homeschool year round and during summer we do a lot of life school instead of structured work. Its a nice break and change of pace for a bit. We also have a birthday every two weeks starting tomorrow (my oldest will be 15! 🤯) until the beginning of August so its nice to have a bit looser schedule to do what we please.

@thatbaintforbetty your dad and my oldest share a birthday. 🥰 Happy Birthday to him!! Also so excited to hear what you are having!
@bridgiebee82 so glad you had such a good appt. It truly does makes such a difference. I don't work so this might not be a lot of help but I clean in spurts, prioritize main living areas, and just come to terms that in this season its not going to be as clean as usual. Its temporary. And allow myself a little bit of grace.

@thatbaintforbetty My husband's family is from the Bay Area and the first time I met them (also my first time in California) literally every single member of his family independently thought to tell me all about the microclimate and the perfectly pleasant weather it provides Beach in mid-July sounds perfect!!
@bridgiebee82 We are also doing the 90/60 weather swings here. Though the hotter days seem to bring on worse headaches and/or nausea for me, so I'm living for the cooling rains at the moment.
@nopegoat Glad you've found a way to have the birthing experience you want with a midwife you know and trust—it must be such a relief to have that squared away. As for HDBD, I say go for it! You may not get a lot of participation in these earlier weeks, but I think consistency really helps on these forums so might as well get everyone into the habit of posting.
Upcoming Appointments: 16-week check-up on 7/9, anatomy scan with MFM on 8/7
How are you feeling? Feeling good!ay never know if my crazy hunger was the steroids or just good ol’ first tri, but it seems to be abating now and it’s so nice going to bed not feeling so bloated and uncomfortable.
Rants/Raves: I told my boss about my pregnancy today. I’d intended to wait until August after the anatomy scan, but this morning she launched a big planning push to build out our schedules through 2026, and it just didn’t feel right to let her make all those plans knowing she’d have to redo everything once I announced. She took it really well—truly, I have nothing to complain about and I was going to have to share the news eventually—but man this reinforced for me how much I DO NOT like mixing my personal life and my work life.
Questions: Is anybody else feeling abandoned by their pelvic floor already? Like why has sneezing got me peeing my pants at 13 weeks??
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to this summer? Kitchen remodel! Or at least, looking forward to a new kitchen. Our current one has cabinets original to the 1937 home that are sorely in need of an update + a lot of crappy DIY work done by the previous owner. Work starts early July and should be done by end of August. Seven weeks without a kitchen is not ideal but I’ve already started stocking the freezer with microwaveable meals so I’m hoping it won’t be too painful.
How are you feeling? Fairly good, but it's super hard to get out of bed in the morning and feel awake.
Rants/Raves: I know my family means to help me as much as they can, however they can, but they are stressing me out with the constant links to baby items and asking my opinion... Having to plan for a baby for 3-6 months in one country before moving back to my home country after 9 years is stressful enough. I'm just overwhelmed!
Questions: I'm already feeling anxious about the gestational diabetes testing later, I think because I have such an aversion/phobia to needles and blood. Is it an ordeal, or just annoying more than anything else?
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to this summer? The price of watermelon dropping. 😊
@nopegoat Happy Birthday to your oldest! The year my dad was born it was actually Father’s Day, it was a running joke in my family that nobody will out do her present that year to my grandpa 🤣.
@aisleofviewtwo we go to the bay at least a couple times a year, would totally live there if we could afford it. When we ask the girls what they want to do for their birthday, it’s a frequent answer. I hate heat and love fog, so it’s literally the very best weather in my opinion.
Also I told one of my work teams about the pregnancy, we were discussing planned time off since we are taking over a decent sized in going client project. I haven’t told my boss or the other team I’m on, probably have to decide when to do that. Of course the team that doesn’t know wants to get together locally this summer so it will come up then if not sooner.
@simplicidee23 The one hour is pretty easy, blood draw before, and then after an hour(and I think it’s only one small vial). The drink is truly absolutely awful though and will probably make you feel shaky, nauseous and super icky. Usually you have to stay and sit at the lab while waiting. Compared to like pre-natal standard labs it’s minor.
