Upcoming Appointments: had MFM today, viability on Friday and now an ultrasound of my liver on Wednesday.
How are you feeling? So. Freaking. Tired. I literally had to put so much effort into just getting up off the couch today. And so anxious about viability on Friday
Rants/Raves: My family invited us over for Mother’s Day and then ate without us. Didn’t even tell me that they were going to eat super early. I don’t even know what to think about it. I’m suddenly not feeling so bad about not telling about 3.0 yet.
Questions:
GTKY: What are your favorite hobbies? Reading! I usually read 100+ books a year. Also baking and cooking.

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out, still feeling like it's a boy tho
Upcoming Appointments: US next Monday! Excited and nervous
How are you feeling? I've been saying this past week has been all about the H's: Headaches, Heartburn, Hot, and Hunger!
Rants/Raves: I'm finally sleeping again, hallelujah! I went from getting only 4 hours of sleep for three weeks to getting over 8 each night the past few days.
GTKY: What are your favorite hobbies? I'm also a big reader! I like to do creative things too like painting or pottery. And I enjoy going on hikes with my dog.
How are you feeling? Nauseous and tired. I take unisom to get with the nausea and help me stay asleep at night… but I wake up feeling like I was hit by a truck with exhaustion (I only take 1/2 tab)
Rants/Raves: Time to pull out the maternity clothes. Ugh. I’ve never been pregnant in the summer so I don’t really have appropriate seasonal clothing. Bought a few things online and we’ll see what fits (mostly maternity workout gear from Amazon).
Questions: I just committed to a new (part time) job and I know I’ll need to be done in Nov (at least for a few months)… I am pretty sure I don’t need to disclose that to my boss, but when should I mention it?
GTKY: What are your favorite hobbies? Reading fiction, baking, decorating sugar cookies, going for walks, and I’m trying to learn pickleball!
@thatbaintforbetty A liver ultrasound sounds…not fun. Is this related to the insulin issues you’ve been having? (I’ll be thinking of you on Friday!)
@knottie7bb6c04621b69d87 I haven’t experienced shortness of breath other than getting out of breath faster when taking the stairs or exercising, but I’m p sure I’ve heard of it being a normal side effect of early pregnancy hormones. Hopefully it resolves soon, though, that sounds annoying! Unrelated, consider changing your username to something more unique so you’re easier to remember and tag here?
@KayMayEmmAyy Yay for good sleep!! It makes such a difference.
@brookejay06 Ugh it’s so hard to know when/how to share the news with your boss. From a legal perspective, I believe you’re required to give one month’s notice to take FMLA. More generally, I feel like it depends a lot on your existing relationship with them and what you’re wanting from the company. If you’re not coming back, probably no big deal to wait as long as possible. If you’re hoping to take a leave and come back, or you have projects with long timelines, maybe they'd appreciate knowing sooner so they can make plans accordingly? (On the flip side, if you’re worried about how they’ll react, pregnancy is a protected category so the sooner you tell them—in writing—the better case you have for discrimination, retaliation etc if they begin behaving poorly.) But it also sounds like this is a new gig, so maybe you don’t even know yet what you need…
Upcoming Appointments: RE on 5/16, then OB on 5/28
How are you feeling? Thankfully, still pretty good! Fatigue is starting to set in—you can find me laying on my office floor most afternoons around 1/2pm—but otherwise it’s just the low-level cramps and queasiness that are just enough to make me think things are ok in there but no so bad as to interfere with life.
Rants/Raves: I was told I could go back to eating gluten and sugar since everything looked good at the first ultrasound. Yay! But now I’m SO snacky, and I can’t tell if it’s because of baby or because of the dietary changes. My doctor was very clear I don’t need extra calories in the first tri, but I want them 😩
Questions:
GTKY: What are your favorite hobbies?Reading (like a lot of you—recs welcomed!), baking, knitting/crochet, and, though I’m doing less of it these days, long distance running.
@knottie7bb6c04621b69d87 That’s annoying! Have you logged out and logged back in? Often people have to take that extra step to get the username change to stick.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 12/6 10w4d FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: complicated Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out! Upcoming Appointments: next Tuesday for ultrasound, some bloodwork, and for them to try and coerce me into getting the NIPT and all kinds of genetic testing since I'm AMA at 42. I will not be doing any unnecessary genetic testing. How are you feeling? Still feeling like a dumpster fire, but a little less so. I still have nausea 24/7, and I puke every night. Now every time I cough, my almost 3 year old son asks me if I'm ok. I am so fatigued. All day long. Rants/Raves: Insurance companies are soooo dumb. I'm on progesterone until 12 weeks. I had a 30 day Rx, and when I tried to refill it I had to get a 90 day Rx, as insurance company policy. I literally have to take it for another week and a half. 90 day supply. It feels so wasteful. Questions: GTKY: What are your favorite hobbies? I love to read, sing, and bake. I'm also getting into embroidery, and I started a 2025 embroidery journal. I have the month names embroidered and nothing else lol
How are you feeling? Tired, nauseous, happy, nervous
Rants/Raves: everything went well at my first appt today. ❤️ I was going to ask for some nausea meds and didn’t even end up asking….im nauseous, but I’m feeling good for the most part which is odd since by now I have been feeling worse. I am cautiously optimistic going into these next few weeks praying the nausea stays away from as bad as what it has been in the past. Come on second tri! Hurry up!
Questions NATM
GTKY: What are your favorite hobbies? Being a mom! No time for myself lol
@aisleofviewtwo it thankfully was easy except for having to hold my breath constantly. Liver issues are a fairly common issue found along side diabetes. It’s part of the reason for the insulin, the medication I was on wasn’t able to keep up when I got pregnant which is not surprising as from what I know the body produces more and more as the pregnancy progresses and so the body can’t keep up. It’s why I anticipated being on insulin at some point. My MFM doc from my first pregnancy said that she always uses insulin when GD or diabetes is diagnosed before 3rd tri as oral meds aren’t as effective for the longer period of time and the eventual increases.
And thank you! I can’t wait for Friday. It’s so hard having to overhaul so much with no guarantee things are even going well. And I know that there isn’t really ever a guarantee but it’s just extra nerve racking. I also apparently have to start baby aspirin at like 10-12 weeks because I’m AMA. DH heard the doc talk about all the risks and extra precautions associated with the diabetes/AMA when I had my appt with MFM and freaked out a bit. So that hasn’t helped my nerves.

@thatbaintforbetty I'm glad the liver ultrasound went well. I started baby aspirin right away, even though my Dr didn't tell me to. I forgot that there was a timeline for it. 🫣 oops. I just remembered having to take it.
TW: loss mentioned in the box.
I'm also AMA and my OB was talking about a referral to MFM. I have anxiety about that because I had to go twice a week for NSTs at MFM and it's where we found out one of our twins, Benji, was stillborn. I liked the staff enough but I just have a lot of anxiety linked to it.
Does anyone else have a super short fuse lately? I am absolutely raging sometimes and it's like, I know I can't be like this! My poor toddler ran away from me last night because I got irate at the dishes! I was trying to put them away and for whatever reason, they wouldn't fit on the shelf. I started losing it. Like... WHAT?! get it together! My poor little guy. I felt like the worst mom in the world.
