3rd Trimester

Glucose tolerance test

Does anybody else feel like they have the flu and just feel horrible after they have to do the glucose test? I had to do the one hour and I felt horrible for like 3 days after, they made me do the 3 hour one, and it is doing the same except I feel even worse.
i found out I do not have gestational diabetes either they said, which I could have told them because I was checking my sugars at home.  I am doing everything I am supposed to do to try to recover from it and nothing is working. I have to work and I feel awful.

Re: Glucose tolerance test

  • i just had my GD test last week too. Did your results come back high the first time that they had you do the 3 hour one after?

I also take my sugar at home! I thought I was the only crazy one.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling ill. Stay hydrated, take it easy and remember you are doing incredible. I think us being alive day by day whilst pregnant is unbelievable still

  • I also did not pass my first one but checked sugars at home per midwife for 10 days (4 times) and was fine thankfully!

I did feel pretty yuck for the next day after my first glucose test, foggy, tired, and I swelled up a ton in my feet and ankles as well I think from taking on so much water from all the sugar plus I was craving all the sweet things after the test. I think different bodies respond to high amounts of sugar differently but I do think it’s a lot of sugar at once for some people when you’re careful to begin with as I am. I’ve done keto and intermittent fasting prior to getting pregnant so I know my sugar limits!
  • I failed the 1st . And tested my sugar at home for 2 weeks... The glucose test is not a natural thing. So I find it common people feel horrible after. They do have the "Fresh Test" which is better than the regular test.

Try to take it easy, drink TONS of water. ♥️♥️♥️
