How are you feeling? About the same—a little fatigued, a little crampy, my stomach feels a little unsettled a lot of the time—but on the whole feeling just fine. Starting to have a little FOMO that I don’t have the glaring symptoms so many of you do 😅
Rants/Raves: I didn’t tell any friends or family about this FET because I couldn’t bear the thought of having to relay even more bad news, but now that it seems to be sticking I’m starting to fret about how to break the news that I’ve been lying to them. I’ve tried to avoid outright falsehoods, so mostly just lies of omission, but still. I know they’ll be happy for me and understanding about what I chose (not) to share. I’d also understand if they were also a little hurt that I didn’t let them in sooner.
Questions:
GTKY: Would you say you’re more of an optimist or a pessimist? I’m a perennial optimist who married a pessimist 🙃 I can’t imagine not being able to see the bright side of things or believe that things will get better, but I can admit that it’s harder being optimistic for two than I thought it would be.
Upcoming Appointments: lolz I now have weekly check ins with MFM, a class on 5/1, a phone appointment on 5/12 and viability US 5/16
How are you feeling? Very tired, boobs still sore, mild nausea. I forgot how awful it is to smell everything, everywhere, all the time.
Rants/Raves: I forgot how difficult the diabetic diet is when you have an aversion to eggs and peanut butter. 99% positive i’m going to be on insulin by the end of the week.
Questions: nope
GTKY: Would you say you’re more of an optimist or a pessimist? Pessimist for sure.

Upcoming Appointments: have a viability ultrasound Friday morning
How are you feeling? Beyond exhausted. So disgustingly bloated. Very emotional. I was extremely worried about lack of aversions, but this morning the smell of the fridge and eggs got me soo....
Rants/Raves: I have so much to do and no energy to do any of it. And of course when I get my kids to bed and its time to go to bed myself I can't sleep. 😭 Rave: 2 more days till my husband is home and can take over things a bit so hopefully I can get some rest! So ready!!
Questions: na.
GTKY: Would you say you’re more of an optimist or a pessimist? I am an optimist until it comes to leaving my house. I'm a huge homebody, and definitely turn into Eeyore when I have to go out in public. ETA for spacing.

EDD / Weeks + Days: December 5th (aka within range of my birthday and wedding anniversary) 8w1d
FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: first child!
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: I’m cautiously optimistic and haven’t really thought about it. I don’t have any close family who had kids in their 30s. Most had them in the late teens/early 20s.
Upcoming Appointments: first prenatal next week. We had a viability TV done a week ago so the doc could ‘check me out’ got a little peak at the baby all things look good so far.
How are you feeling? Exhausted, constantly wanting to vomit and the smells just get to me.
Rants/Raves:my first food aversion started at week 5. I can no longer handle the smell of coffee which is a shame because before pregnancy I was a coffee fiend. Also I feel terrible wasting food but sometimes we’ll make something I’ll take one bite and it’s an instant no. I also almost cried because I got a kids meal cheeseburger the other night
Questions: does the nausea ever let up? What should I expect at the first prenatal visit? Anyone have a dog who became insanely needy once they figured out you are pregnant? I can’t get a good night sleep unless I sleep on the sofa with the doggy. I love her but I want to sleep in my bed in peace😅
GTKY: Would you say you’re more of an optimist or a pessimist? Both? Optimist on the outside but I got a lil voice in my head saying otherwise
@nopegoat My acupuncturist suggested magnesium citrate for insomnia, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much it helps. It just seems to relax me a bit and—especially important at 2am—turn down the noise in my brain.
@knottie9f63fd6af58250f2 I have a velcro cat who spends every night pasted to my side, but it’s been SO warm recently. I don’t feel great about it but I just fidget more and more dramatically until she gets frustrated enough to stalk off 😂 (Unrelated, but consider changing your username to something more unique so you’re easier to tag/remember?)
@aisleofviewtwo yes!! I need to get some more. I also just don't sleep well when my husband is gone. But the magnesium does help! Thanks for the reminder!!!

How are you feeling? Pretty nauseous most of the day, extremely fatigued, RLP, food/smell aversions and sore boobs. Oh and back pain still. Yay pregnancy!
Rants/Raves: I wish I could skip the first trimester. Coffee tastes like an ash tray and I miss when it didn’t 😭

GTKY: Would you say you’re more of an optimist or a pessimist?
@knottie9f63fd6af58250f2 we keep joking that my dog thinks he's pregnant too. For example, as I was trying to tell my bf that I'm pregnant, he ran between us and spit up. He's also been loving taking naps with me.
Upcoming Appointments: first US 5/19. Waiting for my results back from my labs at my PCP.
How are you feeling? Nausea hit for the first time this weekend, blech. I started doing yoga again (just easy poses) and its really helped my back pain hallelujah. Still some fatigue, insomnia, sore boobs, and constipation.
Rants/Raves: as quoted from my boyfriend this week "everything I've learned about pregnancy from movies and TV shows is wrong" 🤣
Questions:
GTKY: Would you say you’re more of an optimist or a pessimist? An anxious optimist
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: probably finding out
Upcoming Appointments: 12 weeks
How are you feeling? Actually pretty good. I’m hungrrrrrrry. Nausea has been manageable as long as I eat 24/7.
Rants/Raves: I am the person in our family who cooks and it’s always been that way. Well this is baby #3 and no food sounds good to me so I’m DONE. Told my husband that he can figure it out. So he’s now learning to meal plan and prep for the week. It’s been excellent. He’s actually a great cook and he gets home at 4pm so he’s got time. As long as I don’t have to cook it, I can generally eat it.
Questions:
GTKY: Would you say you’re more of an optimist or a pessimist? My husband would say I’m a pessimist. I guess I’m “suspicious” of people lol. But I’m usually happy and extroverted so I think of myself as optimistic…. But I’m probably not
How are you feeling? Anxiety is HIGH. Nausea has been intermittent which feels different than with my first child. Which my anxiety is trying to interpret as bad things happening.

How are you feeling? Excited still, but way more symptomatic. Nausea, constant hunger, insomnia, fatigue; it’s just all a beautiful roulette of some, or all, of the above!
Rants/Raves: My real alone time to relax is when my husband watches little one and I take a nice long, hot shower at the end of the day. But something about that steamy, warm goodness as been triggering my nausea like crazy and it breaks my heart a little bit 😭
Questions: Why/how is this pregnancy so different than my first?!
GTKY: Would you say you’re more of an optimist or a pessimist? Hmm I say I’m a realist, but my husband says pessimist 😅🤷♀️ I don’t actively look for the negative, but everything’s got a pro and a con, you know?
EDD / Weeks + Days: 12-6/8w3d FTM/STM/TTM+/it's complicated: it's complicated Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: probably finding out Upcoming Appointments: 5/6 for another ultrasound. I'm so nervous. How are you feeling? Like an absolute dumpster fire. Nausea 24/7, completely exhausted, and i have aversions to everyone single food. I have to force myself to eat. Rants/Raves: Morning sickness is a joke. It should be called All Day Sickness, or Baby Barf or something. This exhaustion is absolutely ridiculous. My anxiety is worse, though. Questions: n/a GTKY: Would you say you’re more of an optimist or a pessimist? Meh... I used to be an optimist. And I wouldn't say I'm necessarily a pessimist now, but I have been burned too many times to be happy-go-lucky all the time. Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but then we wouldn't be grateful for those things without the dark and storms, right?
@aisleofviewtwo@nopegoat I take magnesium glycinate to help with my anxiety and sleep at nighttime. I've been on it for awhile. I wonder if I either need to up my dosage or get a different kind of magnesium to help. Because I'm constantly anxious and can't sleep.
The lack of sleep could be the toddler in bed with us who thrashes about and kicks us all night, too. 🫠
@brookejay06 I feel you on the food aversions. I don't want to cook anything. I don't want to eat anything. I really should do weekly meal preps so it's just less thinking, but I am so a type B person. Maybe even type C. I *want* to be a type A, but I just can't execute it. Lol
@knottie9f63fd6af58250f2 the first appointment is different for everyone depending on the OB. I did a urine test, had an ultrasound, and they drew blood, and set up a plan for me to go on progesterone because I have a history of losses.
@knottie9f63fd6af58250f2 usually health history questions, pee in a cup, bloodwork, ultrasound, answer any questions you have, do’s and don’ts, breakdown of appointments/testing.
My provider/health system does a phone appointment for the health history, ordering labs and some do’s and don’ts. So every doc is different but those are most probably what’s included.
Know if you have any family history of major health problems (birth defects, abnormalities or blood pressure issues or disorders, etc.), know all the medications you are currently taking (if any). Also they might ask about ethnic history of you and your partner for possible genetic issues.

How are you feeling? Very nauseous most days with the added fun of food aversions, sore boobs, and awake every morning from 3:00-5:30am
Rants/Raves: Every single pregnancy book and article suggests eating Greek yogurt as one of your small meals to combat nausea and hunger, and I feel like the one person in a billion who just abhors it. I used to love eggs, and now they taste and smell like lukewarm farts to me.
Questions: I used to be super active 10 years ago, but now I'm... not. Should I start exercising now, or just do what I can to get through the first trimester before attempting it?
GTKY: Would you say you’re more of an optimist or a pessimist? I'm a pessimist for myself and an optimist for others.
@simplicidee23 yes! Best way to put it. An optimist for others but a pessimist for myself! I only like Greek yogurt that has fruit or is flavored. Plain Greek yogurt is foul to me. And now I can't eat eggs because of your description lol I can't attest to the exercise portion, but I'd ask your obgyn when you go. I'm not very active, but I know exercise usually only helps (unless you're like super high risk). Maybe start by going for a 20-30 minute walk each day and go from there. That's what I'm doing. It's easier than trying to go to the gym and working out.
@simplicidee23 Agree with @bridgiebee82 I only like the Greek yogurts that basically mask the taste. Plain Greek is icky. I have had an aversion to eggs for all 3 pregnancies it’s the most annoying thing, especially since DH would eat brinner 3 times a week (we definitely aren’t with the price of eggs but he would if he could). If you’ve been exercising they usually say you are fine to continue with small modifications, if not then starting small is great, walks or gentle yoga. Certain moves are a no go and remember that you can hurt yourself easier because all your joints/ligaments are looser. I aggravated an old knee injury in labor with DD1 because of it.
But 1st tri is also brutal and I would sleep all day if I could. So if you end up in survival mode to get through the day there is nothing wrong with that. Your body should tell you what you need(Mostly).
I have never been a gym girl but I can’t imagine I could handle the smell of one right now…:shudder:
