Neelam (Nee-lam)

II can’t believe I’m saying this <div>I’m growing to like the name Neelam (never liked it before)</div><div>First heard it on the wedding of an actress called Neelam Upadhyaya to the brother of one of my fave actresses (Priyanka Chopra) thus they became sisters-in-law</div><div>I don’t hate nor love it: it’s a 7-8/10 for me</div><div>
The name Neelam is a girl's name of Hindi origin meaning "blue sapphire". It is said that if one wears a flawless blue sapphire, it can remove poverty and provide health, wealth, long life, happiness and prosperity.

what do you guys think</div><div>(pronounced nee-lam like how it's spelled)</div>

I don't like it. But then again I don't like strange names. We live beside a house that is constantly getting new people and it can be rather embarrassing for the children and me if I ask their name but can't figure out how to say it, and every try they say no and repeat it. Especially for the younger that can't talk completely clear.
  • It has a graceful, elegant vibe. The meaning provides the name with like depth and it being a blue sapphire is good symbolism. It's like your child will bring beauty and prosperity into your life, just like the sapphire.
