WAYDTGKU (BD/TI/IVF/FET/Benched/etc.): BD

WTO/TWW: I’m waiting for CD1. I’m 10DPO and stopped progesterone last night. I woke up to spotting already. I guess next time I should at least wait until the evening of CD10.

Timing/Testing/CS: all negative

How are things going? Any questions?: I’m frustrated that this is taking awhile. I’m trying to stay positive and I am only considering this cycle 2 with good timing. My first 2 we timed BD 5-6 days out from ovulation and I’m not going to include those in cycles that we tried because I feel like the timing was so off it was basically a TTA chart. His work schedule was badly timed and I kept thinking I had ovulated. I have had a few more indents this cycle. One showed up within the timeframe. I guess I need to toss these tests and just get new ones.

R/R: we had a windstorm last night. DH already put up my good bird feeder that has a camera on it and I had a few other things out on the deck that took a beating. We had a tarp that was covering our deck furniture for winter and that flew away. I don’t even see it in the neighbor’s yard so I have no clue where it is. I thought we lost some pillows from our furniture but they are miraculously still there. I hope that was the last one for this season. We had one in January where the winds got up to 125mph and the houses on the hills had windows that got blown out.

@emeraldcity603 I totally understand feeling frustrated as each cycle passes. And then there's are some cycles that don't even count because things don't line up for one reason or another. Hang in there! If you're only on cycle 2 of good timing you're not doing so bad 🙂 that and storm sounds crazy! We had a bad one here last week too. Finally this week seems to be all sunny and clear skies and I'm so here for it 🙌🏻

How are things going? Any questions?: ugh, we missed this cycle due to extreme illness. Now just waiting for the next!

R/R: my entire family was sick with the flu for the past 2 weeks. It was awful. And husband is STILL coughing and keeping everyone awake though the main illness is finally gone. And of course my fertile week was during this time so we missed this cycle. I had half a mind to force it thinking "let's get it going while my immune system is down!" But neither of us were in any shape for that lol. Glad to be feeling better and that Spring is fully underway. Really enjoying the sunshine.

@emeraldcity603 I’m sorry for the frustration you’re experiencing 😔 Though this control freak hates to admit it, there’s always an element of luck to TTC and some months (and sometimes many in a row) the odds just aren’t going to be in our favor. Do you always have a short LP/spotting so far in advance of your period? I’d be surprised if the supplemental progesterone withdrawal took effect that quickly.

R/R: TW: someone else’s pregnancy

I finally received the baby shower invitation for a family member I’ve been expecting/dreading for months now (they texted randomly asking for my address). Turns out all the anxiety was for nothing, I can’t go since it’s out of state and I already have someone coming to town to see me that weekend. I’m mostly relieved, though carrying a little guilt because it still feels like I should have been able to rise above and celebrate her.

@aisleofviewtwo No, I usually have a 10-11 (13 before my chemical in December) LP with zero spotting. So the spotting is most likely due to the progesterone.

@aisleofviewtwo thanks, I'm glad we're on the mend too. We both lost about 5lbs though due to not keeping much down, so silver linings, amiright? 😅 anyway, fingers crossed for your first beta to be promising! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 and, I'm glad you don't have to force yourself to be brave for a baby shower that you were dreading. I can understand why that might make you feel a little guilty but your feelings are completely valid. I'm finding it harder and harder to be happy for my friends with their newborns and the ones currently pregnant. Not that I'm NOT happy for them, I just don't particularly feel like celebrating them or talking about it with them, ya know? I don't think that makes me bitter at all 🥲 it sounds like the extra work will keep your mind busy until Thursday so that's probably a bit of a relief too.

@emeraldcity603 I think it’s hard, too, when you’re TFAS and know how your previous TTGP experiences went. Maybe I’m just speaking for myself? Trying to reset my expectations but it’s hard.

@peppyj9 I have definitely been there, especially during FW lol “am I really that sick or can I just do this and get it over with”

@aisleofviewtwo I’m sorry for all the anxiety you’ve had. Don’t feel guilty, you can’t control your feelings and I’m sure you’re there for her as much as you can be.

Timing/Testing/CS: BFN yesterday

How are things going? Any questions?: Took a test yesterday because CD1 was a whole day late even though I was feeling my usual pre-AF symptoms. Convinced myself that maybe I was tired and my boobs were sore for a different reason so I took a test knowing it’s was going to be BFN and ruin my day. Sure enough!

R/R: The weather is so beautiful here. We rode our bikes to the minor league baseball stadium down the road and watched a game. Or, 6 innings of it, before the littlest started getting antsy. I expected to leave a lot earlier so it was nice to see it went better than I thought it would.

@aisleofviewtwo I’m glad you don’t have to attend that shower. I can imagine it would be a bit painful. You can always send a gift and best wishes and be thankful you aren’t going to have to attend.

@peppyj9 The sky is blue today and the temps are in the upper 50’s today. It’s beautiful. I wish we could be outside today. I’m glad you’re feeling better from the flu. I’m sorry this cycle was a bust.

@peppyj9 They really are. We run the roads all summer doing as much as we can. My husband complains about the house and stuff not getting done. Laundry being one of them. I always end up just buying everyone new underwear so I can get by without needing the laundry washed when I don’t have time. 😂 It drives him nuts.

@aloha_mama Yes, my past experiences haven’t been like this so you’re spot on. I also had that chemical and I’m older now so my body may not be able to just pop back to normal after something like that. The silver lining is that I won’t be nervous about our California trip next month. I can go and just enjoy it. I also have a camping trip planned next month too. We have to hike out to the cabin and it’s 3 miles. So, again, I can go and not be worried. I’m sorry you got a BFN too. 😕 @britters314 I’m sorry your plans got ruined by illness. I’m sick of being sick. We have a nasty cold. It’s taking everyone out one by one.

@emeraldcity603 DH was bummed about the BFN, too, but then he said maybe we’ll end up being able to scuba dive on our Hawaii trip next month, so we’re in the same mindset as you, I think. Silver linings where we can find them!

@peppyj9 I completely get what you're saying. One really sad side effect of my infertility has been the fading away of a number of really good friendships because of that dynamic. Sometimes it's hard to hear about their families, but also I'm so tired of not having happy news of my own to share. I don't really even want to talk about it at this point, but it's the biggest thing happening in my world so I also don't have a lot else to talk about. And it's not much of a reciprocal relationship to be like "tell me about your life, sort of, maybe spare me some of the details, and also don't ask me about mine." Life is long, and I trust that these friendships will rebound eventually—and hope the same for you. But right now, yes, it totally sucks.

Well, I haven’t started my period yet. TW in spoiler.

I decided I may be jumping the gun stopping the progesterone so early so I decided to wait and test again at 12DPO and if it was negative stop. I continued to spot a tiny bit more off and on for another day. I tested at 11DPO and got what looked like indents to me so I looked at them and then set them aside and never looked at them again. Then I took one on 12DPO and I looked 10 minutes after and saw a positive, so I pulled the tests from the day before and sure enough it was definitely more than an indent. The next day I got a slightly darker line but nothing to go celebrate about.

I was going to go for a blood draw but they were too busy to fit me in. I tested again today and the line has lightened up a ton. It’s definitely a chemical. I’m not as heartbroken as last time because I was super cautiously optimistic. I feel like I already knew the outcome wouldn’t be good. It’s just not my norm to get such a late positive. So now I will stop the progesterone and wait for CD1.

How are things going? Any questions?: Haven't started testing LH again yet although I usually start by day 8. Feeling pretty discouraged this month. I was really sick last week and am still recovering so that's probably affecting my mood too.

@emeraldcity603 At what DPO does your doctor say you should stop the progesterone? When I was doing progesterone they had me do it until they did a blood draw at 10dpt, which would be 15dpo, so I was surprised when you had said earlier you were stopping at 10dpo. Hopefully keeping it going for longer next time will work for you

@britters314 She never really told me. It’s a NP from my midwife office. She just told me to take it during my LP and continue if I got pregnant. I’m probably going to take it one more day and test again tomorrow. Everything should be low enough to make me feel good 100% confident I can stop taking it.

ETA: I ended up taking the dose I skipped that morning and then again that night to get back on track. So I didn’t go long without it.
