Antibiotics in early pregnancy

Hello,
I took a course of keflex for a uti probably around the time of conception before I knew I was pregnant. Anyone else go through something similar? Should I be worried?

Re: Antibiotics in early pregnancy

  • I am currently on Keflex for a UTI at 6w3d pregnant and my pharmacist said it was safe for pregnancy.

  • I had to take keflex several times my last pregnancy with no issues.
  • hey, I wouldn't stress too much, lots of people have taken meds before they knew they were pregnant, but maybe check in with your doc just to be safe!

"It's understandable to feel concerned about medication taken during early pregnancy. Keflex (cephalexin) is generally considered safe during pregnancy, as it is a category B drug, meaning no evidence of harm has been found in studies. However, it's always best to discuss any medications taken during conception with your healthcare provider for personalized advice. Have you had any specific symptoms or concerns since starting your pregnancy?"
